It is no secret that Predator’s Yautja are some of the deadliest creatures in all science fiction, but one secret piece of Predator-tech takes their murdering-potential one-step further as it makes them genuinely unstoppable.

Fans were introduced to Yautja in 1987’s Predator–a film that laid out exactly what a Predator is, including its purpose in the universe, its hunting skill, and (to an extent) its tech. Predators are a race of highly-advanced aliens who travel the cosmos from planet-to-planet searching for the deadliest prey. Their entire culture is based around hunting, and proving that they are the superior killers in the cosmos, which means all of their technological advancements were achieved for the sole purpose of continuing that pursuit. This led to Predators inventing cloaking devices that essentially make them invisible, shoulder cannons that can obliterate practically anything it hits, and–of course–interstellar space travel to actually get to the different planets. However, in the original film as well as most other additions to Predator lore, there is one piece of tech that is left out–and it's the most useful of them all.

In Aliens vs Predator vs The Terminator by Mark Schultz and Mel Rubi, Ripley8 (who is a clone of the original Ripley with the addition of Xenomorph DNA) and the rest of her team of anti-Xenomorph revolutionaries have just escaped a space station laboratory where a team of scientists is experimenting on Xenomorphs. The reason for their hasty departure is due to the fact that they weren’t the only ones launching an assault on the space station, as a team of Predators is doing exactly the same thing. When they witnessed a Predator fighting a Terminator (as it was secretly the Terminators behind these Xenomorph experiments), Ripley8 and her crew got out of there as fast as they could–though clearly not fast enough. Within minutes of their ship taking off, Ripley8’s vessel was surrounded by Predator ships before a small team of Predators teleported into Ripley8’s ship, grabbed her, and then teleported all of them back to one of the Yautja’s ships.

Predators that Can Teleport are Unstoppable

Predators can teleport.

Never before in the Predator franchise have they been shown to possess the capability of teleportation, but in this series, they do it like it’s nothing. Not only that, but they are able to teleport others just by touching them as shown with their abduction of Ripley8. The exhibition of this tech proves that the Predators are genuinely unstoppable as there is no way they can lose a fight if they choose to utilize every piece of technology they have access to. Sure, a Predator may choose not to simply teleport back to their ship if they’re losing a hunt on an alien planet as that goes against their code of honor, but in a situation where the Predators need something dead no matter the cost, there’s no way they can fail. In fact, the Predators have found themselves in a situation much like this in the current Marvel Comics continuity as the Yautja are being hunted by a human named Theta. Theta has killed more Predators than any movie protagonist, and she is using the Predators’ tactics against them and catching them off guard. Theta is murdering Predators, and if she isn’t stopped, she could take out their best hunters with guerilla attacks before they even get the chance to prove themselves. However, if they decide enough is enough, the Predators can simply use their teleporter to ambush Theta and instantaneously bring her back to their ship where she can be quickly killed by waiting Predators.

Regardless of the current usefulness of the Predator’s teleporters (as that is just one example of how they can easily defeat even their greatest threat), the fact that they have that tech at all makes them untouchable–which, in turn, makes them genuinely unstoppable.
