Arguably, one of the most iconic scenes from the original film is the climactic self-destruct scene. Following a hard-fought battle with Dutch the Predator's final reveal of his ace up his sleeve, a jungle leveling self-destruct bomb as a final effort to kill the commando. This scene embodies what Predator fans love about the series. The ever-growing list of gadgets and weapons at the alien's disposal, the hunter's fierce tenacity, and an awesome end for an awesome antagonist's quest for blood. This self-destruct is available within Hunting Grounds, however, gaining access can be tricky for players unfamiliar with the mechanic. This guide will aim to demonstrate how to and the primary use for the Self-Destruct bomb within the context of Predator: Hunting Grounds.

How the Self-Destruct Bomb Works in Predator: Hunting Grounds

As the name implies, the Self-Destruct gadget allows the Predator player the chance to detonate his character in an effort to defeat the Fireteam.

This ability can only be used after the Predator player has been downed by the Fireteam. Once downed, the Predator has the option to begin the Self-Destruct countdown, which, if any Fireteam members are within its radius will be instantly defeated by the bomb.

Using this ability allows the Predator a final chance to complete his objective in a stylish blaze of glory style maneuver. However, to gain the most mileage out of the attack, it should be down at the helicopter extraction point, as to deny the Fireteam the chance to escape and also as a means to limit their ability to evade the explosion.
