The Powerpuff Girls' archenemy Mojo Jojo looks like a comic book villain in new fan art. Aired on Cartoon Network, the animated series follows three kindergarten-aged superpowered sisters – Blossom, Bubbles, and Buttercup – who are frequently called upon to defend Townsville from big baddies. This includes their archenemy, Mojo Jojo, a humanoid monkey and evil genius mastermind who is constantly plotting to take over the world or destroy the Powerpuff Girls.

Some new fan art from raresauce_ on Instagram saw fit to reimagine the monkey-like Mojo Jojo as a comic book villain. Check it out below:

Mojo Jojo's original design in The Powerpuff Girls was inspired by Caesar from Planet of the Apes and Dr. Gori from the Tokusatsu series Spectreman. Instead of an animated antagonist, the fan art reimagines Mojo as if he would appear in a comic book panel, and the result is a much more physically imposing antagonist.

Will Mojo Jojo Appear In The Live-Action Powerpuff Girls Reboot?

Mojo Jojo in The Powerpuff Girls

In 2021, a live-action Powerpuff Girls reboot show was officially ordered at The CW starring Chloe Bennet, Dove Cameron, and Yana Perrault as grown-up versions of Blossom, Bubbles, and Buttercup. The pilot episode's cast also included Donald Faison, Nicholas Podany, Robyn Lively, and original narrator Tom Kenny. However, a month into production on the pilot, The CW decided to drastically rework the show, and Bennet later dropped out of the project.

There hasn't been much news on the reboot since, though it is still in development at The CW. According to creator Craig McCracken, the reboot hasn't progressed very far in development, though he did confirm that Mojo Jojo will appear in the live-action Powerpuff Girls show. The diabolical, cunning, and menacing Mojo is the most memorable villain from the animated Powerpuff Girls show who is still popular to this day, evidenced by the new fan art, so it only makes sense their archenemy would reappear in the live-action reboot.
