Warning! SPOILERS for The Power!

With The Power’s debut, Amazon Prime’s latest series portrays a varied cast of characters with complex dynamics. One of the most fascinating elements of The Power’s premise is its scope, with electrical abilities developing in many women across the world. To tell such a broad story means balancing the experiences of characters in a variety of cultures and social classes, and as such, the cast of The Power is a diverse one. However, this can be overwhelming to keep up with as the show begins with five main stories right away.

Overall, The Power portrays what happens when women begin to develop electrical powers across the world, leading to a massive power shift around the globe. Specifically, the show documents this shift from a variety of perspectives, including a politician and her daughter in the U.S., a gangster’s daughter in Britain, an orphan from the southern U.S., and an aspiring video journalist in Nigeria. To keep track of these new and complex characters, here is the cast and characters of The Power so far.

Toni Collette as Margot Cleary-Lopez

The Cleary-Lopez family in The Power

Margot Cleary-Lopez is the mayor of Seattle in The Power when the phenomenon begins to sweep the world. Her daughter, Jos, is one of the early adopters of her electrical abilities, but the two have a strained relationship. Margot begins to meld her political ambitions with the women’s abilities by creating training camps for girls to master the power while also militarizing them. Toni Collette was also Joni Thrombey in Knives Out, Gretchen in Velvet Buzzsaw, Fiona Brewer in About a Boy, Lynn Sear in The Sixth Sense, and Annie in Hereditary.

But Allie escapes them when she begins to hear a voice in her head as she discovers that she can use the power, an ability which the Voice promises will help her do great things, and will help her become a religious figure throughout the series. Although Bush is relatively new to the industry and is largely known for her role in The Power, she has also recently appeared on Entertainment Tonight.
