Power Rangers Toy Features Classic Original Series Phrase

A new toy from the upcoming Power Rangers movie reboot hints at the inclusion of the original series' classic call to arms.

The Power Rangers reboot trailer: Dacre Montgomery as Jason Lee Scott, Naomi Scott as Kimberly Hart, RJ Cyler as Billy Cranston, Becky G as Trini Kwan, the Yellow Ranger, and Ludi Lin as Zack Taylor, the Black Ranger.

The premiere of the Power Rangers movie reboot is fast approaching, and though we've seen the first trailer (and an international version), there's still a lot we don't know about Saban's upcoming take on the property.  We know that Elizabeth Banks (The Hunger Games) will play the villainous Rita Repulsa, and that she'll be joined by a new approach to the henchman Goldar, but we still aren't sure what their evil plot will be. At least we've had a few looks at the Rangers' costumes and Zords, and we're likely to get at least one more trailer before a slew of TV spots.

The movie will certainly have a lot of ground to cover introducing our primary heroes and villains - not to mention Bryan Cranston's (Breaking Bad) Zordon and Bill Hader's (Inside Out) Alpha 5, or the Zords. It's unclear whether the new film will feature cameos by any actors from the original series, but we know that a many of the elements from Mighty Morphin' Power Rangers will guide the reboot.

Thanks to Power Rangers fan and toy lover Linear Ranger on Twitter, we've now got a look at a new piece of movie merchandise that lets us know at least two things from the first series will factor into the new movie, including the Ranger's classic call to arms.

Despite the darker and grittier approach the new movie looks to be taking with its more alien-influenced designs, it appears a couple of the goofier elements from the TV shows will be included. Chief among them is the phrase "It's morphin' time!," which serves as the Rangers' version of "Avengers Assemble!" The sound effects from the mask also confirm the long-running rumor that the Putty Patrollers will be giving our heroes a headache in the new movie.

Some set photos featuring actors in motion capture suits appeared earlier this year teasing the possibility of the non-verbal goons, but it was far from a sure thing. With the Red Ranger's challenge to defeat the Putties confirmed by the new toy, it looks like Rita will be employing the underlings to wreak havoc across Angel Grove. There's a good chance that we'll get our first glimpse of the Putties when the new trailer drops, so stay tuned for all things Power Rangers as we await the film's premiere.
