The new Netflix series, Post Mortem: No One Dies in Skarnes introduces a Nordic cast that is sure to draw viewers into the new horror-comedy series. The Netflix original, directed by Petter Holmsen and Harald Zwar, recently premiered on the streaming service on August 25th and has received generally positive reviews. Though the series takes on classic vampires as its horror focus, it does so with a compelling sense of sardonic humor.

The six-part Norwegian series is produced by Motion Blur, joining Netflix’s list of new TV shows along with series Brand New Cherry Flavor. Post Mortem follows the story of Live Hallangen, a normal woman who unexpectedly wakes up hours after being declared dead. Aside from what seems like a mysterious resurrection, Live now harbors a thirst for blood, a thirst that may provide a convenient solution to her family’s struggling funeral home business.

Vampires have been a cornerstone of horror films for a century, but Post Mortem presents a fresh take on the supernatural creature that is backed up by a talented cast of relatively new faces. Both light-heartedly dark and brutally vampiric, the Netflix series is another foreign horror to enjoy. Here are the cast and characters of Post Mortem: No One Dies in Skarnes, and what they've been in before.

Kathrine Thorborg Johansen as Live Hallangen

Local nurse Live Hallangen is the main focus of the series, and her vampiric reanimation rocks the boat of the small Norwegian town of Skarnes. Upon experiencing an intense thirst for blood, Live struggles between managing her urges for the survival of the town versus embracing her newfound nature for the survival of her family’s funeral home business. Johansen was previously in Norwegian disaster film The Quake (2018) as well as sports drama series Heimebane.

Elias Holmsen Sørensen as Odd

Few people in Skarnes are dying, which has left Live’s brother Odd with a struggling funeral home business. He juggles managing the family finances amidst Live's bloody mayhem, trying to keep his family afloat. Outside of the Netflix vampire TV show, Sørensen previously played Pål in The Ash Lad: In the Hall of the Mountain King (2017) and is set to appear in the 2022 comedy Olsenbanden - Siste skrik!
