The Porygon family makes its debut in the Pokemon: Isle of Armor DLCThis guide will help players collect them all in Pokemon Sword & Shield. Several classic Pokemon like the Porygon family has finally made an appearance in the Galar region through the DLC. Only 400 Pokemon were initially available in the base game, cutting over 400 other Pokemon including some fan favorites. This was met by massive amounts of backlash from fans but Game Freak is attempting to fix this error by including over 100 older Pokemon with the release of each part of the Pokemon Sword & Shield expansion pass. The Isle of Armor recently released, bringing Pokemon like the Porygon family back to the mainstream. Here's how players can get Porygon, Porygon2, and PorygonZ in the Pokemon: Isle of Armor DLC.

The player will need to have the Pokemon Sword & Shield expansion pass. Porygon is a part of the Isle of Armor section of the DLC pass. To obtain Porygon, the player will need to have beaten either the Tower of Water of the Tower of Darkness. After doing so, return back to the Dojo and speak with Master Mustard. A Pokemon battle will commence. After the battle is complete, head over to the rightmost room in the Dojo to find Porygon with Hyde. Hyde will explain what Porygon is and give a small history about its background and will offer the player the Porygon to join their team. Selecting yes will give the player Porygon as a Pokemon. Now, here's how players can evolve Porygon into Porygon2 and PorygonZ.

How To Evolve Porygon into Porygon2 and PorygonZ in Pokemon: Isle of Armor DLC

Pokemon Sword and Shield Porygon

Both Porygon2 and PorygonZ will need players to find trade items for each along with a trusted friend. Since the beginning, certain Pokemon will only evolve if the Pokemon is holding a specific held item when trading. To evolve Porygon into Porygon2, the player will need to find the Upgrade item. Players can find this item in the Training Lowlands inside of a Pokeball. The trainer will need to give the Porygon the Upgrade to hold then trade it. It will evolve in the trade. To get Porygon2 into its final form, PorygonZ, the player will need the Dubious Disc. Players can find this item at the Workout Sea on a small island surrounded by sand. It will be in the middle of the ocean. Trade the Porygon2 while it's holding the Dubious Disc to finish the family line with PorygonZ.

The Pokemon Sword & Shield expansion pass marks the first time in the series where a mainline title has received paid DLC. The second half, the Crown Tundra, will release later this Fall, featuring a frosty wild area, 100 older Pokemon, and new legendary Pokemon to encounter. This will potentially change how Game Freak will handle releasing new content in the future of the series. Currently, the Pokemon Sword & Shield expansion pass is the main focus to the team as no other mainline title has been announced. The DLC has been a great way to revisit the Galar region for another adventure.
