A mysterious Twitter post by Poppy Playtime developer MOB Games has revealed that there's a hidden secret message for those clever enough to find it, but what it means is unknown. The post of the secret Poppy Playtime message contains a picture of what is seemingly an innocuous screenshot of Chapter 2, Fly in a Web, but if it's digitally altered to increase the brightness, the words "Make me part of him" can be seen hidden in the foreground. This text is chilling, and offers an interesting if minuscule hint to what players can expect from Chapter 2.

In Poppy Playtime, players explore the abandoned Playtime Co. toy factory in an effort to free the titular toy, Poppy, for reasons that are unknown. In the process, they'll be chased by the horrifying Huggy Wuggy before ultimately sending him falling to his apparent death. Poppy Playtime is not safe for kids, and it's looking like Chapter 2 will be no different. In its trailer, Mommy Long Legs, who will apparently be the antagonist of the next entry, is shown dragging Huggy through the factory. The series is still in its early stages, so much is still unknown, but it's enjoyed massive success since the release of the first chapter.

"Make me part of him" is a cryptic statement, and could mean anything at the moment. It's uncertain who wrote it or who the "he" they were referring to is. There are a few possibilities, some of which carry interesting implications, but nothing is concrete for now. However, it's not the first time that players have seen writing on the walls or floor in Poppy Playtime. Cryptic messages are scattered all over Playtime Co. in Chapter 1, most of them seemingly written by Huggy Wuggy. Poppy Playtime Chapter 2's release date is up in the air at the moment, so it could be a while before players understand this eerie statement.

Poppy Playtime Ch. 2 - Did Mommy Long Legs Write The Message?

Poppy Playtime Theory Mommy Long Legs Isnt The Real Villain Of Ch 2 MLL Head Tilt

In Poppy Playtime Chapter 2, Mommy Long Legs is heavily implied to be the main antagonist, taking the place of Huggy Wuggy. If so, then it's possible that she wrote the mysterious message featured in MOB Games' Twitter post. Huggy Wuggy seemingly wrote all across Playtime Co., evidenced by the frequent recurrence of things like "I'm Starving" and "This Isn't My Body". Huggy Wuggy is a monstrous human experiment who apparently does not require sustenance according to one of the VHS tapes scattered around the factory, so these certainly seem like things he'd write. Mommy Long Legs could have done the same thing he did and scrawled messages on the walls and floors. If so, then the hidden message could carry certain implications.

In Poppy Playtime, Daddy Long Legs is something that's been making the rounds of the fanbase. It's not canon at the moment, but it's essentially a male version of Mommy Long Legs, the same way Kissy Missy is a female counterpart to Huggy Wuggy. If the developers are making a real Daddy Long Legs, then Mommy Long Legs could have written that message out of a longing for a better half that she has such strong feelings for, she literally wants them to become one entity. Alternatively, it could be that Daddy Long Legs is damaged, and Mommy Long Legs wants to use parts from her body to fix him but doesn't have the expertise and/or dexterity in order to do so.

Poppy Playtime Chapter 2 - Did A Human Write The Message?

There's so much that's still unknown about Poppy Playtime. The events leading up to the game are shrouded in mystery, as are the creation of the monstrous toys that inhabit the factory. What happened to Poppy Playtime's Playtime Co. employees isn't known for certain, but it's implied that they were used for inhumane experiments that resulted in their body parts being used to create the likes of Huggy Wuggy, among others. A safe assumption would be that all of them were unwillingly subjected to it, but it's possible that this isn't the case. Almost anyone can become a fanatic of one thing or another, and if an employee was particularly devoted to the company and its creations, then it could be that they wanted to become a part of Huggy Wuggy or a similar masculine toy. Cults and cult followings are real, after all, and the founders of the company could have purposefully hired people with these tendencies and nurtured them over the course of their employment.

Alternatively, the message could have been written by one of the founders themselves. All of Poppy Playtime's lore, including that surrounding the founders of Playtime Co., Laithe Pierre and Elliot Ludwig, still isn't known. It's possible that one of them was so enamored by their creations that they literally wanted to be one, which could indeed have been the entire purpose of the experiments in the first place; to act as prototypes. The employees also apparently jumped out at Laithe Pierre to scare him, so often in fact that the company had to put up a sign telling them not to. With such mistreatment, it's possible that he could have looked at how much people love the toys he makes and wanted that same love for himself.

Did Poppy Write The Message In The Chapter 2 Trailer?

A close-up of Poppy Playtime, looking out into the distance.

One of the most unsettling possibilities for who wrote "Make me part of him" is Poppy Playtime herself. Poppy Playtime takes Five Nights At Freddy's themes and elements quite frequently, so it's possible that she wishes to copy Ennard of FNAF: Sister Location and take the player character's body for herself, in order to escape the Playtime Co. toy factory and live amongst the human populace. If so, then this means a few things. It means that Poppy is the overarching antagonist of the series, and that the player character, whose identity has been unknown up until now, is confirmed to be male.

The reasons for Poppy writing this are fairly obvious. She's been stuck inside a glass case for who knows how long before the player frees her in Chapter 1, and she is designed to be extremely intelligent to the point where she can hold a dynamic conversation. That kind of intelligence could lead to her growing bitter at her captivity and longing for freedom. Everything about Poppy Playtime's monsters isn't known for now, so it's certainly possible. She could have even orchestrated the end of the player's employment from Playtime Co. in order to spare him from the human experiments, either because she wanted his body for herself or because she was fond of him and didn't want to see him die. If it's the latter, then bitterness could have driven her to bring him back so that she could have her vengeance upon him for abandoning her for so long. Poppy Playtime is still unfolding, so nothing is certain, but the various game theories are interesting.
