Poppy Playtime Chapter 2 introduces players to a new set of monsters while also featuring some returning ones. Some are horrifying, and some are rather cute. From the prominent Mommy Long Legs to the mysterious Prototype, Poppy Playtime Chapter 2 features a much larger cast of monsters than Poppy Playtime Chapter 1, but given the length of Poppy Playtime Chapter 2, that's unsurprising. The expanded cast of monsters leaves players wondering which among them will take the starring role in Poppy Playtime Chapter 3.

Players take on the role of a former Playtime Co. employee in Poppy Playtime. Having received a letter in the mail and a VHS tape, the player returns to the Playtime Co. factory in search of their former coworkers who vanished a decade ago, but they insist they have not vanished and are trapped in the factory. As the player explores the Playtime Co. factory, they learn that Huggy Wuggy and Mommy Long Legs are not the only threats that await them.

Poppy Playtime Chapter 2 puts Mommy Long Legs in the role of the central villain, but she's far from the only monster that players encounter. Huggy Wuggy makes a return in Poppy Playtime Chapter 2, but this time players get to slap him with the Grab Pack's hands instead of running away from him. While some of the monsters - like Kissy Missy - come face-to-face with the player, others can only be seen in blueprints for the time being, possibly hinting at monsters that will appear in future installations.

Mommy Long Legs Takes Center Stage In Poppy Playtime Chapter 2

Leading the player through Poppy Playtime Chapter 2, Mommy Long Legs forces the protagonist to play the games found at the Playtime Co. Playground area in exchange for the code needed to operate the train and leave the factory. Modeled after Betty Spaghetty, Mommy Long Legs, also known as Experiment 1222, was once a woman named Marie Payne, according to a letter that details information about Marie's behavior and musing about how to control the aggression she displayed when she wasn't around children. Although the ending of Poppy Playtime Chapter 2 sees the demise of Mommy Long Legs, players might see part of her again in the future if her fears about being made into part of "him" are realized.

Huggy Wuggy Returns In Whack-A-Wuggy In Poppy Playtime Ch. 2

Among the games that Mommy Long Legs makes the player play in Poppy Playtime Chapter 2 is Whack-A-Wuggy. Following the same idea as Whack-A-Mole, the player must hit the Huggy Wuggy with the hands of the Grab Pack as he comes out of tunnels in order to push him back. Huggy Wuggy might not be as terrifying when he isn't chasing after the player, but Mommy Long Legs warns that the strings that used to be attached to Huggy Wuggy in order to pull him away from kids if he got too close are no longer there. If the player isn't fast enough to push back Huggy Wuggy, they will receive a jumpscare death screen.

Kissy Missy Finally Appears In Poppy Playtime Ch. 2

Kissy Missy, who might be Stella Greyber, may be the most unique monster in Poppy Playtime Chapter 2. This is because she helps the player continue their journey through the Playtime Co. factory. Kissy Missy is similar to Huggy Wuggy in appearance with the exception of being pink rather than blue, but they seem to have opposite personalities.

Kissy Missy uses a lever to open the path for the player, and then she leaves before they are able to interact with her. Unlike the other toy monsters in Poppy Playtime Ch. 2, Kissy Missy appears to be more of a friend than a foe - for now. It will be interesting to see what happens with Kissy Missy in Chapter 3.

PJ Pug-A-Pillar Has A Hundred Legs For Chasing Players In Poppy Playtime

Statues, similar to Red Light, Green Light, is another game that Mommy Long Legs takes the player to, and this one includes being chased by PJ Pug-A-Pillar, a long, dog-like caterpillar. While the player is only able to move when the lights are off in Statues, PJ Pug-A-Pillar will move during the entirety of the game without stopping when the lights turn on. Aside from a jumpscare if he catches up to the player and the knowledge of him crawling continually closer, PJ Pug-A-Pillar is one of the less frightening villains in Poppy Playtime Chapter 2.

Bunzo Bunny Is Poppy Playtime's Musical Master

Among the possible monsters to return in Poppy Playtime Chapter 3 as he is still alive, Bunzo Bunny makes his appearance in the Musical Memory game. Bunzo Bunny hovers over the player in Musical Memory, lowering down as the game progresses, and moving back up when the player completes a round successfully. If the player fails a round, the game ends with Bunzo Bunny lowering down to murder the player with his cymbals.

Bron Continues Lurking in Poppy Playtime Chapter 2

Bron is a dinosaur toy who returns in Poppy Playtime Chapter 2 with his full form instead of as dismembered pieces on the floor or paintings on the walls. At one point, the player needs to get Bron off of an elevator so they can use it because Bron is too heavy. Eerily enough, this allows the player to see that Bron has no eyes. So far, Bron remains inanimate, but that could change with Poppy Playtime Chapter 3.

The Prototype Is Poppy Playtime's Most Mysterious Monster

The Prototype's claw dragging Mommy Long Leg's corpse into a boarded off hallway in Poppy Playtime.

The Prototype, also known as Experiment 1006, is a metallic claw-like creature that has apparently caused multiple issues for Playtime Co. Most of the information about the Prototype is found on VHS tapes. They mention his intelligence, and that he has killed at least one Playtime Co. researcher.

The Prototype is seen at the end of Poppy Playtime Chapter 2 after the player kills Mommy Long Legs in a traumatizing ending sequence. He comes and drags away the upper half of Mommy Long Legs' body, which fell out of the shredder. Though it's unknown why he wants Mommy Long Legs' body, players can assume it's for a sinister plot given what information they can find about him.

New Poppy Playtime Monsters Are Possibly Hidden In Blueprints

In the same manner that Poppy Playtime Chapter 1 showed drawings of Kissy Missy before her appearance, Poppy Playtime Chapter 2 might be hiding more monsters in drawings that will show up in the future. Among these blueprints are Love Bug, Petite Pooch, Sunni Buddi, and a couple of Mommy Long Leg prototypes. While Sunni Buddi would have a difficult time chasing after the player as a plant, Love Bug could make a tricky enemy in the future if it's given the ability to fly. For now, there's no way to know if these toy concepts will be brought into the game with more significant roles, or if they are nothing more than rejected concepts that were never produced.

The Poppy Playtime Chapter 2 ending brought with it more questions than answers. Poppy seems more sinister now, and the Prototype is known to be lurking in the factory. Aside from Mommy Long Legs, any of the toy monsters could step into the role of primary villain for Poppy Playtime Chapter 3. Even Kissy Missy, despite her helping the player, could decide to work against them instead. However, the Prototype seems to be the most likely to become the next primary villain - and the most dangerous villain - after experiencing Poppy Playtime Chapter 2.
