MOB Games Animator Micah Preciado has shared a Poppy Playtime Chapter 2 animations video that shows even scarier versions of Huggy Wuggy, Kissy Missy, and Mommy Long Legs. Poppy Playtime Chapter 2 launched earlier this month to the delight of countless fans. The follow-up entry brought with it a few new terrifying characters, including the likes of Mommy Long Legs whose eerie appearance occupied much of the game's marketing push.
Despite hitting Steam in late 2021, Poppy Playtime has already become a pop culture phenomenon in many circles, especially on the web. This much seems most evident when considering the hype that surrounded Chapter 2's recent release. The seemingly steady stream of new merchandise suggests the creepy toy-centric franchise will stick around for the long haul, too. Poppy Playtime's original entry dropped players into the role of a character who explores an abandoned toy manufacturer where several employees previously disappeared without a trace. Notably, story for Poppy Playtime Chapter 2 takes place shortly after the events of Chapter 1 and adds a few new faces, albeit scary ones, to the mix.
Following the release of Poppy Playtime Chapter 2, Animator Micah Preciado shared a video filled with animations for characters such as Kissy Missy, Mommy Long Legs, and Huggy Wuggy. Kissy Missy appears first, creepily moving one of her arms around in a wave-like motion before unceremoniously slinking off with the oddest gait. Preciado's video focuses on Mommy Long Legs next, revealing some of the intricacies of her eerie spider-esque movements. Huggy Wuggy pops up at the very end for a jump scare-type of cameo that's sure to surprise at least a few viewers. Check it out in the Twitter post linked below:
While Kissy Missy and Huggy Wuggy prove plenty terrifying in their own right, Poppy Playtime Chapter 2's Mommy Long Legs stole the show in the animation video above. The stretchy toy's every movement has purpose, from the stretching of her legs to the crease of her spider-like fingers. Not to mention, the incredible voice-over work truly accentuates the character's already high-quality fear factor.
With Poppy Playtime's second chapter now out in the wild, and apparently horrifying players to bits, fans can't help but ponder what developer MOB Games may have in store for a potential third game. If the team can once again drum up scares akin to those induced by Huggy Wuggy and Mommy Long Legs, it seems safe to assume that Poppy Playtime faithful will be in for yet another treat.
