The Netflix film Polar, based on the web comic-turned-graphic novel from Victor Santos, involves a mixed bag of morally ambiguous cast of characters whose lives revolve around violence. Here's who they are and where you've seen them before.
In Polar, when the infamous assassin Duncan Vizla/The Black Kaiser (Mads Mikkelsen) retires, the organization he's affiliated with hunts him down as a result of a shady loophole in his soon-to-be-expired contract. However, when the organization involves the innocent Camille (Vanessa Hudgens), Duncan isn't just out of retirement - he's out for blood.
With the combination of frenetic storytelling, eccentric costuming, and against-type acting, putting a name to the face of some of Polar's cast members may be slightly challenging. So, to help out, we've put together a helpful cast and character guide for Polar to figure out who's who in the new Netflix adaptation.
The Retired Assassins in Polar
The central crux of Polar revolves around retired assassins being offed by their former employers.
Mads Mikkelsen as Duncan Vizla: The Hannibal and Doctor Strange actor plays a former assassin attempting to live a life of solitude in the middle of nowhere. However, after his employers kill one of their other recently retired assassins, they come for him.
Johnny Knoxville as Michael Green: Green is one of the retired assassins being sought after by his former employer. Knoxville is best known for being the creator and star of the TV series-turned-film series Jackass, and he recently starred in the comedy Action Point.
Richard Dreyfuss as Porter: One other retired assassin in the film - one who managed to avoid being killed and is living the retired life unscathed - is Porter. A seasoned, Academy Award-nominated actor, Dreyfuss is best known for his roles in Jaws, Close Encounters of the Third Kind, and American Graffiti.
Duncan's Affiliates In Polar
When the focus of Polar isn't on Duncan, it's following the various people who are either directly or indirectly affiliated with him. However, whether or not they're emotionally or professionally tied to him, they're in no way safe when Duncan's former colleagues begin their violent pursuit.
Vanessa Hudgens as Camille: Duncan's central affiliate is a young woman named Camille. Everything surrounding her backstory and presence in the film is a mystery, but she is something of a grounding force for Duncan as he attempts to navigate his way through retirement - dangerous though it ends up being. Hudgens has starred in everything from High School Musical to Spring Breakers.
Ayisha Issa as Jazmin: Duncan's other affiliates include a mysterious, but faithful friend named Jazmin, who helps Duncan out when he's in a considerable bind. Issa has starred in the 12 Monkeys TV series, and has also taken smaller parts in Warm Bodies and Immortals.
Julian Richings as Lomas: Lomas handles Duncan's finances. You may recognize Richings as Lor-Em from Man of Steel or in his small role in Hannibal alongside Mikkelsen.

The Assassins In Polar
The most dangerous characters in Polar - second to Duncan - are the assassins tasked with hunting down the Black Kaiser and finishing him off.
Matt Lucas as Blut: Though the assassins work as a team with no discernible hierarchy among them, they work for a madman named Blut. Lucas has starred in everything from Doctor Who and Alice in Wonderland to Bridesmaids and the BBC sketch comedy series Little Britain, which he co-created.
Ruby O. Fee as Sindy: Fee mostly works on German productions, so she's likely not too familiar with English-speaking audiences.
Josh Cruddas as Alexei: Cruddas is an up-and-coming actor, with Polar one of his biggest roles to date.
Katheryn Winnick as Vivian: Vivian is an affiliate of Duncan, but also someone who works for Blut. Winnick plays Lagertha in the History Channel series Vikings, and she also starred in The Dark Tower as Jake's mom Laurie.
