Just over two dozen original skins from the upcoming Pokémon UNITE MOBA spin-off have been leaked through recent beta testing. The twenty-six revealed skins will be available for players to obtain and apply to their favorite Pokémon when the game launches in full next month.

Pokémon UNITE was initially revealed on June 24, 2020 and has been generating more buzz than usual lately thanks to a beta version recently made available for Japanese Nintendo account holders. While much of the beta's content can only be fully understood by Japanese speakers, gamers from all over the world have been diving in head-first to see what it has to offer. Like most MOBAs, Pokémon UNITE looks to be focusing primarily on strategic team-based gameplay and a varied roster of iconic characters. With the beta expiring on June 26, fans have been hurriedly picking it apart and uncovering as many details as possible.

Of all the recent discoveries, one of the most exciting is the collection of skins for each Pokémon that are available for viewing on the gaming website Dexerto. Series mainstays like Charizard and Venosaur are shown in charming seasonal outfits, while relative newcomers like Absol will be able to don more minimalist, formal accessories. Adding to the classic series staple, many of these outfits will take on different appearances as each Pokémon evolves to its next form.

Some of these changing skins include a pirate-themed outfit for Scorbunny, Raboot, and Cinderace, as well as an adorable aviator-style cap and scarf ensemble for Fletchling, Flechinder, and Talonflame. Other outfits, such as Machamp's beach-ready luau set and Blastoise's dashing cap and waistcoat, don't appear to have any other versions at this time. Iconic characters like Pikachu and Mr. Mime look to be starting their Pokemon UNITE careers with multiple different distinct outfits.

There's no doubt that these twenty-six leaked skins are just the tip of the iceberg for Pokémon UNITE, with Nintendo hopefully improving upon its last set of Pokémon cosmetics after the game's release. As a free-to-play title, these skins and any subsequent cosmetics will more than likely only be available via in-game purchases, which could disappoint some fans. Having the opportunity to unlock new outfits by completing challenges or leveling your Pokémon could prove to be a powerful incentive to keep playing Pokémon UNITE, in addition to giving dedicated players something to show for their hard work. However Nintendo decides to handle Pokémon UNITE's cosmetics and in-game marketplace, it is sure to be a hot topic of discussion in the months leading up to and following the game's release.
