The launch trailer for Pokémon Unite's mobile release has revealed new Holowear and features while also driving hype for the game's Nintendo Switch crossplay. Pokémon Unite released for Switch earlier this summer, and the game will come to Android and iOS devices from tomorrow, September 22.

Pokémon Unite has seen mixed reception from players, but the latest Pokémon release has been an overall success with over nine million downloads since it became available in July. The game has been described as a MOBA-lite, offering MOBA-like gameplay with a more casual spin. Players take part in 5v5 matches, battling Pokémon and scoring goals to win. Despite being just a few months old, the game has already seen new fan-favorite Pokémon added to its roster, including Generation One's Blastoise, who was added to Pokémon Unite earlier this September. Fans of Pokémon Unite have been waiting for the game's mobile release since the title came to Switch, as the launch will allow full crossplay between mobile and Switch players.

The developer of Pokémon Unite is celebrating the game's mobile launch a day early with a new trailer highlighting what players can expect from the release. Along with the new “Galactic Ghost 094” battle pass, new customization options will be available for trainers, allowing players to create more unique characters to better represent themselves. Lots of new Holowear is also shown in the trailer, including a pirate skin for Charizard, and a new spacesuit for Gengar. New Pokémon fighters, the previously-announced Sylveon and Mammoswine, will also be available from the mobile launch. The game's Unite Squads are also shown in the video, highlighting the options to create or join a Unite Squad, along with a brief look at Unite chat by text.

The mobile launch of Pokémon Unite is set to make the game more accessible to more players. As emphasized in the launch trailer, the game's crossplay functionality will allow friends to play together even if they don't own a Nintendo Switch console, which will likely mean a surge in player numbers. Pokémon games are typically confined to Nintendo consoles, and Pokémon Unite could be many players' first taste of an official Pokémon experience.

With new fighters, features, and functions, the mobile launch of Pokémon Unite should make the perfect time to jump back into the action, or try the game for the first time. The game's developers have been continuing to improve the free-to-play title with balancing updates, nerfing and buffing Pokémon to provide the best experience for its players, which will continue following the mobile launch. All the new features shown in the Pokémon Unite trailer are expected to be live when the game launches on mobile tomorrow. Players should be advised that the title will mostly be unavailable to play today, with Pokémon Unite servers down for the update.
