A new glitch in Pokémon Unite has arisen, which prevents players from collecting Social Daily Mission rewards. Millions of trainers worldwide enjoy the battle and goal-smashing action of Unite, but like countless modern games, it bears a history of glitches. These have ranged from minor inconveniences to more acute setbacks. In the case of TiMi Studio Group's imagining of a Pokémon MOBA, these glitches have often compounded the frustrations of players unhappy with the game's implementation of microtransactions.

TiMi and The Pokémon Company have kept up a habit of admitting to major glitches after they arise, though not always right away. A major glitch allowing Blastoise players to spam Unite Moves surfaced in early September, which the Pokémon Unite team has yet to directly tackle. A patch released this week has made it so Blastoise, when Rapid Spinning, cannot use standard attacks and Hydro Pump or Water Spout simultaneously. However, players can still spam Blastoise's Unite Moves three consecutive times in the span of 30 seconds. The glitch has unintentionally transformed the defender Pokémon into an extremely powerful offensive force.

Pokémon UNITE has posted an update about a new glitch on Twitter. The glitch has prevented some trainers from collecting their Preregistration Campaign and Social Daily Mission rewards. UNITE has promised more information to come soon. Fans of Unite have reacted with general frustration to the glitch, which increases the difficulty of an already grinding-heavy game. It marks a similar point of frustration as the Pokémon Unite glitch that doesn't count late-game goals, since both bugs prevent players from gaining benefits for progress they made legitimately through gameplay.

The MOBA game has multiple events beyond this weeks' patch and the upcoming fix to the reward glitch. Galactic Ghost 094 has debuted this week as a battle pass themed around Gastly and its evolutions, bringing new space-themed Holowear to the first Ghost-type Pokémon of them all. Players will receive a free sum of 2000 Aeos Tickets on September 29 in celebration of the game reaching over 9 million downloads for the Nintendo Switch version, released in July. Given how expensive the game makes it to purchase the more competitively viable Held Items, these Aeos Tickets will come as a welcome boost to trainers not willing to indulge in Unite's micro-transactions. Pokémon Unite will also release Mamoswine and Sylveon at some point in the near future, marketed as a duo of beauty and brawn.

Pokémon Unite became an instantly popular game on the Switch, repeating the success of its mobile counterpart. But the more glitches fans uncover, the more it leaves a bad impression on a game that has already attracted negative buzz due to its microtransaction policy and past glitches.
