When entering the world of Pokémon Unite, players need to stay on their toes and learn some brand new MOBA style mechanics if they want to start winning some matches. The biggest thing to keep in mind is that each team consists of five real-world players, so those who aren't able to work together as a group won't make it very far in this game. Lone wolves are bound to get themselves killed more often than not.

Another aspect of the game that is nearly as important though is understanding how each of the Pokémon behaves. They all have their own specific quirks, strengths, and weaknesses, and they all range from a wide array of different Pokémon generations. One of the best picks in the game is a major fan favorite: Lucario. This Pokémon though is pretty worthless if the player doesn't know what they are doing. This guide shows how to make the best Lucario build.

Pokémon Unite: Best Lucario Build

Pokemon Unite MOBA Review Cover

Lucario is a terrific choice in Pokémon Unite due to his status as an All-Rounder. This essentially means that all of Lucario's stats are fairly balanced, and the player can use the character in many different ways and be successful. The upside to Lucario is that they actually have a high mobility stat, so the character can move around the map quickly while still dealing a decent amount of damage to enemies. Lucario also has very powerful basic attacks that make for a very deadly character to use against enemies. In order to make Lucario useful though the player needs to focus on the correct abilities. Here are which abilities the player should choose at each level:

  • Level 1 - At the first level, the player will want to start by picking up Quick Attack. This essentially allows the player to dash forwards and dish out damage to anything in their path.
  • Level 3 - At the third level the player should then pick up Meteor Mash, which is a physical attack like Quick Attack but it has a different purpose. When activated Lucario will punch forwards and cause a bit of damage, but the important part is that it will push any enemies hit backwards. This basically makes it perfect for crowd control.
  • Level 5 - Extreme Speed is the ability that the player should use to replace Quick attack. It is really just a more powerful version of Quick Attack, but if the player hits an enemy close by with it it will reset its cooldown meter and allow the player to use it again in quick succession. If the player upgrades it at level 11 they also gain the ability to increase Lucario's attack damage.
  • Level 7 - Upon reaching level seven the player can then acquire Bone Rush to replace Meteor Mash. It will allow the player to attack enemies with a bone to deal a decent amount of damage and stun whoever hits momentarily. After the final attack, the bone is tossed away, and if the player activates the skill again Lucario will dash towards it quickly. At level 13 it can be upgraded to reset cooldowns whenever it is activated a second time.

There are also a series of items that Lucario will find very useful to use:

  • Float Stone - This item will increase Lucario's speed stat considerably, which will almost put Lucario in the Speedster category due to his already high-speed stat.
  • Muscle Band - By acquiring this item the player gains the ability to boost Lucario's attack damage and speed. This will greatly increase the capability of Lucario's already powerful basic attack.
  • Scope Lens - Another excellent choice due to its ability to grant buffs to critical chance rate and critical damage. This once again can boost Lucario's ability to deal damage to enemies.
