Here are some helpful tips and tricks for getting started in Pokemon Unite.

  • Play with Friends: This is the best way to experiment with the different Pokemon types out there. Players can try each of them out to find out which one feels comfortable in their hands. Playing an Attacker or Defender might not be for everyone.
  • Jump Pad: This will allow players to warp to different locations on the map in an instant instead of having to walk it.
  • Stay In Your Lane: Depending on your role should determine which lane the player will pursue. The map is broken up into top, middle, and bottom lanes. At least 1 Pokemon should be in each lane.
  • Evolution: Players can evolve from gaining XP from defeating wild or enemy Pokemon. This will unlock new moves and abilities.
  • Items: Similar to the mainline titles, players will come across Held Items, Battle Items, and On-Field Items. These will provide additional support to the player.
  • Balance: Make sure to find a balance between collecting points and cashing them in. Players won't want to die with tons of points in their inventory.
  • Bots: Try out some games against the AI to get comfortable with the game's mechanics.

Pokemon Unite's meta-game will evolve when the game officially releases this month. It will be interesting to see which Pokemon are the best in the group. Regardless, teamwork is still the best way to secure some wins.
