One of the most anticipated sets for Pokémon TCG is the next Sword & Shield expansion, titled Silver Tempest and set for a November 2022 release. This will be the 11th and final of the mainline Pokémon Sword & Shield TCG sets before the transition to Pokémon Scarlet & Violet.

The Sword & Shield expansions lasted a long time but will finally conclude with Silver Tempest. Of all the sets in the series, one of the best is Fusion Strike, containing a slew of great cards featuring Pokémon such as Mew and Celebi. Which of the sets cards are the best of the bunch?

Meloetta

Meloetta - Pokemon TCG: Fusion Strike.

Meloetta's artwork and rarity are nothing over the top, however, it is a fantastic card to use with a deck built around Fusion Strike cards. It possesses only 90 health points, but its attack only requires 1 psychic energy and one colorless energy.

That attack does 70 damage for each Fusion Strike Energy attached to all the player's Pokémon. Players should remember that a Fusion Strike Energy is a separate card, but those purchasing Fusion Strike cards will no doubt have plenty of them to put into their deck.

Latias (Promo)

Latias Promo - Pokemon TCG: Fusion Strike.

Latias is another excellent card players will want to possess in their Fusion Strike deck and the promo version of the card will be one they might want to secure for their collection rather than their deck. This card has an ability that allows the player to place one psychic energy onto their Latios (a separate card that works well with Latias).

The required energy for the Pokémon's attack can look a bit hectic with one fire energy, one psychic energy, and one colorless energy, but this shouldn't be a problem if players have Fusion Strike Energies in their deck. Her attack is called Dyna Barrier and deals 70 damage, but its effect keeps the opposing player from dealing any damage to Latias with any VMAX.

Chandelure VMAX (Secret)

Chandelure VMAX Secret - Pokemon TCG: Fusion Strike.

Chandelure, one of the most underrated ghost-type Pokémon, and its VMAX and all of its variations depict beautiful artwork, but players with the intent of collecting the best will want the Secret Rare version the most. This card's ability can put a stop to many players' plans as it stops the opponent from using any Pokémon Tools from their hands, as long as Chandelure is the active Pokémon.

This Pokémon card also has one attack that requires one fire energy and one colorless energy, the attack deals 70 damage times any number of trainer cards that the opponent has in their hand (and the opponent must reveal their whole hand).

Dragapult

Dragapult - Pokemon TCG: Fusion Strike.

Dragapult is without a doubt one of the best non-legendary dragon-type Pokémon in the games and debuted in Pokémon Sword and Shield. It must first go through its evolution line to be used, but it possesses some incredible attacks.

Its first attack requires one psychic energy that deals 30 damage for every Fusion Strike Pokémon the player has in play. This means that in a normal match Dragapult can deal up to 180 damage. Its second attack isn't quite as good but can be helpful if players don't have enough Fusion Strike Pokémon in play yet. It deals 120 damage and requires one psychic energy and one colorless energy.

Genesect V (Alternate Art)

Genesect V Alternate Art - Pokemon TCG: Fusion Strike.

This alternate art card of Genesect V contains wonderful artwork that many fans have been desperate to get their hands on. It contains a useful ability that allows the player to draw cards until they have as many in their hand as they do Fusion Strike cards in play.

It also has a powerful attack that requires two steel energy and one colorless energy that deals a grand total of 210 damage. This will knock out a large majority of Pokémon in the game, but players should be careful to remember that this attack can't be used on their next turn due to a cooldown.

Celebi V (Alternate Art)

Celebi V Alternate Art - Pokemon TCG: Fusion Strike.

Celebi's alternate features beautiful artwork of the Pokémon flying around a snowy area and giving life to the dead trees as the Pokémon passes. This is one of the more sought-after cards for collecting purposes due to its gorgeous art, but it can also be useful in battle.

Its first attack allows the player to attach any grass-type energies from their hand to any of their Pokémon in any way they wish. Celebi's second attack deals 60 damage but allows the player to put the Pokémon back on the bench and replace it with a different one. This is a perfect tactic to use in tandem with Celebi's first attack to stack up energy on a single Pokémon that will be ready to deal a ton of damage.

Mew V (Alternate Art)

Mew V Alternate Art - Pokemon TCG: Fusion Strike.

Mew is one of the strongest psychic-type Pokémon and in Fusion Strike, it has multiple excellent V cards, but none are better than the alternate art card. The card is one of the most expensive in the expansion (per TCGPlayer) and possesses two attacks that players will find useful.

The first requires one psychic energy and doesn't deal any damage, but its effect allows the player to search their deck for one psychic energy card and attach it to any of their Fusion Strike Pokémon. The second attack is a bit more unique and deals 70 damage and then forces the player to put the card and all the cards attached to it back into the deck.

Espeon VMAX (Alternate Art Secret)

Espeon VMAX Alternate Art Secret Rare - Pokemon TCG: Fusion Strike.

Espeon VMAX's alternate artwork secret card is one that fans loved almost as much as the Umbreon VMAX from Evolving Skies. This card's ability prevents all effects of attacks from the player's opponent's Pokémon done to all the player's Pokémon that have energy attached.

It also has a single attack that requires three energy, one psychic and two colorless, that deals 60 damage for each energy attached to all the opponent's Pokémon. This can be disastrous for the opposing player and can make Espeon quite the force.

Gengar VMAX (Alternate Art Secret)

Gengar VMAX Alternate Art Secret Rare - Pokemon TCG: Fusion Strike.

Gengar, one of the strongest ghost-type Pokémon, and its evolution line always manage to supply fans with some of the most unique and fun artwork in Pokémon TCG. This card features Gengar VMAX sucking in berries, trees, and other fruit into his mouth in a way reminiscent of Kirby.

Gengar has two strong attacks with the first requiring two dark energies and deals 60 damage for each V or GX Pokémon that the opponent has in play. Its second attack, which is called Swallow Up and is rather fitting for the art, requires three dark energy cards and deals 250 damage. This is an impressive attack, but players should remember that it cannot be used on their next turn.

Mew VMAX (Alternate Art Secret)

Mew VMAX Alternate Art Secret - Pokemon TCG: Fusion Strike.

Given that Mew V's alternate art is great, it's no surprise that Mew VMAX's alternate art secret would be one of the best cards from Fusion Strike. This busy art-filled card possesses two attacks that make this card perfect for battle too.

Its first attack requires two colorless energies and allows Mew to use any attack it wants from one of the player's benched Pokémon, as long as that Pokémon is a Fusion Strike. This makes its first attack incredibly overpowered especially when players can use attacks that would usually cost more than two energy. Mew's second attack requires two psychic energy and deals 120 damage. Its effect that goes along with its attack makes certain that the damage dealt isn't affected by any of the opposing Pokémon's effects.
