The Pokémon Trading Card Game is releasing Silver Tempest in November, and many of its Secret Rare's have already been revealed in Japanese sets. In August, Nintendo confirmed that Silver Tempest would be the final Pokémon Sword and Shield TCG expansion to be released in the game's Galar era. The final set will be used to wrap up Gen 8 before the release of Pokémon Scarlet and Violet. Although the collection is still a month away from release, many of its rarest cards have already debuted in Japan.

When the Silver Tempest expansion launches on November 11, players will be able to pull Secret Rare cards from the Japanese set's Incandescent Arcana and Paradigm Trigger. The final Sword and Shield release will feature a secret setlist with over 53 hidden Alternate Art, VSTAR, Rainbow, and Gold cards. The November collection includes artwork of popular Pokémon such as Lugia, Alolan Vulpix, and Serperior. Below is a list of the best Secret Rare cards that players will want to see in Silver Tempest.

Fans of Pokémon Black and White are in luck, as it looks like Unova Legendary Reshiram will be featured as a Full Art V card in Silver Tempest. The Secret Rare recently made its debut in the Paradigm Trigger set, and is illustrated by Game Freak artist N-DESIGN Inc. Although the Pokémon Celebration TCG 25th anniversary set recently featured a Reshiram re-print, Silver Tempest is the first time the Unova Legendary has received a proper Secret Rare card since 2019's Pokémon Sun and Moon Cosmic Eclipse TCG expansion.

Secret Rare Gold Lugia VSTAR Pokémon Card

One of Silver Tempest's biggest draws is the return of wildly popular Johto Legendary Lugia to the TCG. The Gold and Silver Pokémon is making a big splash in the final Sword and Shield expansion, as it makes multiple appearances throughout the set. However, the Gold Lugia VSTAR card is easily one of its best artwork in years, as it features the Legendary Bird bursting through a swirling energy of golden sparkles.

If any cards needs to be in the Silver Tempest expansion, it has to be the amazing Alternate Art Unknown V card. Not only is the Alphabet Pokémon rarely featured in the TCG, but the Paradigm Trigger collectible features an incredible re-creation of an iconic scene from Pokémon Gold and Silver. In the Gen 2 games, players first discover the mysterious Pokémon in the Ruins of Alph, which the holographic card faithfully depicts. Making the Secret Rare even cooler, is that it's actually drawn by veteran artist Toshinao Aoki, who has been drawing cards since the Pokémon Gold and Silver Johto region era of the tabletop game.

Illustrated by artist kawayoo, the Secret Rare features a full art drawing of Lugia flying above a stormy sea. The artwork is packed full of details, such as the lightning that is piercing through the dark clouds, or the fisherman that is leaning over their boat to look up at the epic Legendary Pokémon.

Lugia's counterpart mascot Ho-Oh is also in Silver Tempest, as it recently made an appearance as a V card in Paradigm Trigger. The rare holographic features the Pokémon Gold mascot flying through a cosmic swirl of rainbow colors behind it. The Secret Rare Ho-Oh was drawn by legendary card artist 5ban Graphics, who recently illustrated the Gold Giratina VSTAR collectible from October's Pokémon Lost Origin TCG expansion. Long-time fans of the series are going to love this card, as the Legendary doesn't actually have many cards as colorful as this in the TCG.

The last Secret Rare that players absolutely need in Silver Tempest, is Paradigm Trigger's Alternate Art Regidrago card. The rare holographic features a hand-drawn artwork of the Legendary titan resting against an ancient ruin wall. What makes this card incredibly unique, is that it actually features Pokémon Gold and Silver Legendary Lugia in it as well. In the background of the meticulously drawn artwork, the popular Gen 2 mascot can be seen flying through the sky. Considering both Legendaries made an appearance in the final Pokémon Sword and Shield Crown Tundra DLC, the Alternate Art Regidrago V card is also a fitting Secret Rare to end the Pokémon Trading Card Game's eighth generation on.
