Pokémon Japan has officially announced the Pokémon Trading Card Game set Incandescent Arcana, which includes mystical cards like Alolan Vulpix VSTAR. As an iconic and long running part of the monster collection franchise, the trading card game has recently seen a meteoric rise in popularity. While some Pokémon TCG cards are actually worthless, The Pokémon Company has continued putting out new decks that are both beautifully illustrated and financially valuable.

The Pokémon Trading Card Game has followed the video game series since the 1990s, with new Pokémon introduced in the games quickly appearing as colorful new cards to collect. The Pokémon Company frequently puts out new booster packs and sets, allowing the Pokémon TCG to constantly evolve just like its titular creatures. Actually playing the card game is one thing, but many collectors have made massive profit by finding and selling rare Pokémon cards over the years. While a recent rise in popularity for the game many suggest a rise in the value of rare cards, Pokémon TCG card value has actually dropped due to the over-production of cards.

As reported by the fansite PokéBeach, Pokémon Japan recently unveiled the S11a set Incandescent Arcana and its mascot card Alolan Vulpix VSTAR. This Ice-type regional Alolan form of Vulpix will possess a unique VSTAR special ability, which will help it turn the tide of any battle. This set, planned to release in Japan on September 2, will feature 68 cards including Character Rares and Radiant Pokemon. Other notable cards included in Incandescent Arcana include Zarude, Fennekin, Radiant Jirachi and the Trainer Serena. Which its release window outside Japan is uncertain, Alolan Vulpix would be a perfect mascot for a set released over the winter.

Incandescent Arcana could be planned to arrive in the winter, and The Pokémon Company recently revealed Pokémon TCG Halloween packs set for release in the fall. The "Trick or Trade" booster packs will celebrate the spooky season by including creepy creatures like Gengar, Zubat, Pumpkaboo and Polteageist. Each card in the 40-card "BOOster Bundles" will reportedly be marked with a Pikachu Pumpkin stamp to indicate that it belongs to the curated collection of creepy cards. The Trick or Trade packs will apparently be available in time for Halloween in October, letting Trainers give their deck a signature spooky style.

Pokémon TCG is constantly receiving new booster sets, and Incandescent Arcana looks to be a particularly robust new addition to the trading card game. While Alolan Vulpix VSTAR will serve as the set's mascot, other exciting creatures like Fennekin and Radiant Jirachi will also be included to flesh out any fan's deck. Incandescent Arcana is set to hit Japan on September 2, with a release throughout the rest of the world likely following soon after.
