The latest trailer for the Crown Tundra DLC of Pokémon Sword & Shield has finally revealed details about Galarian Slowking. The existence of two Galarian variants of the Slowpoke line was first hinted at in the announcement trailer for Pokémon Sword & Shield's Expansion Pass.

Pokémon Sword & Shield introduced the concept of Galarian forms, which are Pokémon that evolved differently from the versions that fans are familiar with, due to living in a drastically different environment. This led to Galarian variants like Galarian Ponyta, which is a Psychic-type Pokémon with a more colorful design than the one that debuted in Pokémon Red & Blue.

The Isle of Armor DLC for Pokémon Sword & Shield introduced Galarian Slowbro, and the Crown Tundra will add Galarian Slowking to the games. The latest trailer for Pokémon Sword & Shield announced the release date for the Crown Tundra DLC, and it gave the world a brief glimpse of Galarian Slowking. The official Pokémon Sword & Shield website has been updated with new details for Galarian Slowking, so players now know its capabilities on the battlefield.

Galarian Slowking Combat Crown Tundra Pokemon

Galarian Slowking is a Poison/Psychic-type Pokémon that (if one squints) resembles Darth Vader, as the Shellder on its head has transformed into a helmet, and its little collar has become a cape. Galarian Slowking has the Curious Medicine Ability, which allows it to reset any stat changes made to its ally on the field. It also has the Eerie Spell signature move, which deals damage and removes 3 PP from the last move used by the enemy Pokémon. In terms of lore, the Shellder has bitten onto a Slowpoke's head, injecting its brain with a poison that drastically increased its intelligence. Galarian Slowking is described as being a Hexpert Pokémon, and it's said to be muttering spells when communicating with others of its kind.

The Crown Tundra DLC is bringing back lots of Legendary Pokémon, as well as adding Galarian forms for the Legendary Birds of Kanto. The Expansion Pass hasn't included many new Pokémon, but the Galarian variants of the Slowpoke line are both interesting additions to the game. Galarian Slowking's abilities & powers will make it a potent force in competitive battles, and its new Sith Lord look will make it a popular choice for the fans who were sad for the Slowpokes who lost their tail in Pokémon Gold & Silver, because no one is going to mess with this new awesome version of Slowking.
