Pokemon Sword and Shield's Mystery Gift is a method of receiving free rewards from Game Freak. Here are all the currently active Mystery Gift Codes in Pokemon Sword and Shield. Mystery Gift has been a long-lasting feature in the Pokemon series. Through Mystery Gift, Pokemon series developer, Game Freak, is able to send out items, points, and even Pokemon to trainers. Back in DS days of the Pokemon series with Pokemon Diamond and Pearl, the Pokemon Company collaborated with retailers around the world to help distribute specific Pokemon through Mystery Gift. In 2009, an event was held at Toys "R" Us for a Regigigas. If trainers went into a Toys "R" Us with their Nintendo DS, they were able to use Mystery Gift to get the legendary Regigigas. In Pokemon Platinum, this Regigigas would unlock new areas in the region to explore. The concept is still the same with Pokemon Sword and Shield. This guide will share all the currently active codes for Mystery Gift. Make sure to grab them quick before they disappear forever.

In Pokemon Sword and Shield, Mystery Gift is being used a lot more frequently with the game. Upon release, players were able to collect a Gigantamax Meowth by using Mystery Gift. Unfortunately, the Mystery Gift expired back on January 15th, making it an extremely rare Pokemon to come across with trading. On top of Pokemon, Game Freak has released specific codes for the player to input to receive certain items and benefits. Considering the game has only been out for a couple of months and the Mystery Gift feature has been used so often, it's expected that Game Freak will be using it plenty moving forward, especially with the upcoming Pokemon Sword and Shield Expansion Pass releasing later this year. Here's how to access Mystery Gift in Pokemon Sword and Shield

Mystery Gift is a neat way to keep players returning back to Pokemon Sword and Shield long after they completed their journey. In the future, the Pokemon Company may team up again with retailers for exclusive Pokemon. In Japan back in 2014, a Mystery Gift code was distributed for Pokemon Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire where if players purchased a pack of special wristbands, they would get a code for a special Shiny Jirachi. The proceeds for these wristbands were for helping children in Fukushima have a good Christmas. As time goes on, Mystery Gift becomes more fleshed out with what neat treats they distribute. The Mystery Gift codes are a convenient way for Game Freak to give out rewards for long time supporters.
