One inventive Pokémon fan has created a mock-up of a third game to go along with the two most recent releases in the franchise, Pokémon Sword & Shield. The fan-made title goes along with a "Fakemon" that the user made as a theoretical addition to the game.

Pokémon Sword & Shield were released in 2019, introducing fans of the franchise to the brand new Galar region. The game introduced 81 new Pokémon, new gyms, Dynamaxing and Gigantamaxing, and other new features. Although Pokémon Sword & Shield were generally well-received, many Pokémon fans were less enthused with the decision to not include every Pokémon from previous games. The new Pokémon were praised for their design, particularly the two new legendary Pokémon, Zacian and Zamazenta. However, many Pokémon Sword & Shield players clearly think that the Pokémon they got could be improved.

One fan, a Twitter user by the name Wooden Plank Studios revealed their design for a hypothetical third legendary Pokémon and its companion game to Pokémon Sword and ShieldNamed Pokémon Gun, as a counterpart to the weapon motif, the green version's cover is adorned with this "Fakemon," that Wooden Plank Studios named Zagurinu. A Dark/Steel-type Pokémon that bears a strong resemblance to an armadillo or porcupine, Zagurinu is shown holding the same weapon as this version of the game. This follows the precedent from the original Pokémon Sword & Shield games, which showed Zacian holding a sword and Zamazenta behind a shield.

Pokémon Sword & Shield ended up as one of the best-selling installments in the Pokémon series, largely due to its large, open world and the new gameplay improvements. Since it's release, Game Freak has supplemented the original offering with two DLC packs, via the game's expansion pass, to add new content (including bringing some Pokémon from previous games back to the series' latest installment). So far, only two expansions, The Isle of Armor and The Crown Tundra, have been released. Many players are hoping that more expansions may be available in the future, as The Crown Tundra was released in November 2020. So far, however, there has been no news of any further content for Pokémon Sword & Shield.

However, if more content is in the works for Pokémon Sword & Shieldperhaps Game Freak will draw some inspiration from fans like Wooden Plan Studios. The creativity and passion surrounding these two games are still lasting almost two years after the games were released. Evident from the support that Wooden Plan Studios got for their fan-created Pokémon game and new Pokémon, fans are surely eagerly awaiting any new installments.
