A new trailer featuring the Pokémon Sword and Shield DLC Isle of Armor and Crown Tundra takes the form of a Galarian nature documentary showcasing the new landscapes. The DLC expansions, which have been out for a bit of time now, feature new and returning Pokémon, new trainers, new gym masters, and brand new legendaries for people to catch.
Pokémon Sword and Shield was released back on November 15, 2019, and in June of 2020, the first DLC, Isle of Armor, was released. The second DLC, The Crown Tundra, was recently released in October 2020. Both were released to good reviews, with fans enjoying the new content and landscapes that were offered. Many have been wondering if there might be a third DLC in the works recently, but it seems that Pokémon is solely focusing on the already-released DLC packs for now.
A new trailer from Nintendo shows off the beauty of both of the regions, with a voiceover that brings David Attenborough nature documentaries to mind. Featured in the video are multiple Pokémon new to the latest release, as well as returning favorites. For example, Jigglypuff makes an appearance at one point, showing off its “joyful cries” as the narrator says. It also features new legendary Kubfu. The trailer also shows off the possibilities of what can happen in the regions, as well as “strange happenings” in the ocean or on the land that the player can explore. The trailer ends with a reminder that both DLC expansions are currently available on the Nintendo Switch.
While the games have been out for some time now, this new trailer makes the areas look even more fantastical and full of life. With the Nintendo Switch outselling the PlayStation 5 in November, there’s definitely the market out there for people to buy the current Pokémon game. It's not clear yet what could be next for Pokémon, but Nintendo is certainly making sure to keep its latest installment fresh in players' minds.
Pokemon Sword and Shield is available to purchase both physically and in digital form from the Nintendo eShop. For those who haven't picked up either DLC yet, they're both available in one digital bundle. But players better be quick if they want to be able to catch all the shiny Pokémon as well as the regular ones - gotta catch 'em all, right?
