The Desert Illumina Orbs are needed to take photos of certain Pokemon in Pokemon Snap. This guide will show players how they can unlock them. Each level comes along with its own Illumina Orbs. This is the special item that allows players to make Pokemon glow or do special animations. As you might imagine, these photos are amongst the most valuable in the game. For those looking to get 4-star photos of every Pokemon in the game, the Illumina Orbs are a requirement in making that possible. Within each level, players will need to unlock the specific Illumina Orb by completing a task in the level. This guide will show players where they can find the Desert Illumina Orbs.

Players will unlock the first version of the Illumina Orbs as they explore Florio Island. As they explore, players will need to take pictures of Crystabloom Flowers. These flowers function as kind of gems that the camera will pick up on. Players may also need to play through a level multiple times before they are able to encounter the Crystabloom Flowers. In the case of the Desert Illumina Orbs, players will need to head over to the Sweltering Sands at Night to unlock it. This guide will show players where the Crystabloom Flower will appear.

How To Unlock The Desert Illumina Orbs in Pokemon Snap

New Pokemon Snap Shroomish

The player will need to play through the Sweltering Sands level. Once the player levels up enough, they will unlock the nighttime version of the stage. Progress through the night version of the stage until you're about to slide down a large sandhill. Look to your left and you will see the Crystabloom Flower resting on the cliffside. If the player misses it before they slide down, they can turn back around and capture a photo of it from below. It's a bright yellow so it will stick out better during the nighttime. Now, players will have access to this location's Illumina Orbs.

Pokemon Snap is a game that rewards its players for going through the same level again and again. It's nearly impossible to capture a photo of every Pokemon available on a single run. Now with unlockable paths and upgradable levels, new paths open up so much, making it easier than ever to encounter something new. Hopefully, it won't be too long before the next Pokemon Snap title is released. Maybe DLC can come in the future to keep things fresh.
