Thanks to a recent video, Pokémon fans can now add the Sinnoh Region to the list of locations from the series that have been recreated in Minecraft. In the past, there's been a trend of Minecraft players recreating locations from their favorite pieces of media. This includes King's Landing from Game of Thrones and Hogwarts from the Harry Potter series.

But Minecraft has always seemed to inspire Pokémon fans particularly, largely due to the fact that the open world, outdoor space of Minecraft resembles the picturesque fictional regions of the Pokémon series. In fact, one of the most popular Minecraft mods of all time, Pixelmon, replaced the world and creatures of Minecraft with those from Pokémon, including transforming the animals from Minecraft into Pokémon, which the players could "catch." They could not only capture a wild Ditto or Spearow in their modded Minecraft game, they could even train and battle them with other players.

Following the path of this marriage of creativity, a post by Redditor bubsy200 shows a work-in-progress Minecraft world, modeled after the Sinnoh Region. The gameplay clip shows the starting city of Twinleaf Town, with its four, green-roofed houses. The player is able to walk through the town, passing two Pokémon silhouettes. After walking down the main path of Twinleaf Town, the player advances on to Route 201, the first wild area beyond the starting town (after passing a couple of wild Ralts on the way). In Pokémon Platinum, this would also be the area where the player meets Professor Rowan with their rival, Barry, obtains their first Pokémon, and participates in the first battle of the game. The video then walks the viewer along the paths of Route 21, which are lined by trees that block certain paths.

After braving the paths of Route 201, the player is able to reach the second town in Pokémon Platinum, Pearl, and Diamond, Sandgem Town. This town features five buildings, including two houses, one Pokémart, one Pokémon Center, Professor Rowan's Pokémon Research Lab, and the professor's assistant's house. The Minecraft world is constructed so the player can walk through and enter all of the buildings, just like they could in the Pokémon game. The player in the video continues down Route 202, passing by a few wild Pokémon and enemy trainers before arriving in Jubilife City. Unfortunately, it doesn't appear any of these buildings are as fully fleshed-out as those in Sandgem Town, but perhaps they'll be explored in another update.

This video is incredible, not only for the design of the Minecraft world but also the ambiance and care that went into the production. The Pokémon music playing in the background, as well as the aesthetic of the texture pack makes this Minecraft world feel like an old Pokémon game come to life. Hopefully, this Redditor will continue working and building the entire Sinnoh region for the world to see.
