Pokémon games have a long tradition of coming out in pairs to encourage trading and cooperation between players, so Pokémon Scarlet and Violet each have special exclusives particular to them. Unfortunately, this can make deciding which game to get a difficult one. They both offer mostly the same experience for players, with a few changes to enjoy sharing with friends.

The latest to join the long line of Pokémon games just released to an excited fan base who now must decide which version to purchase. Pokémon Scarlet and Violet's story is the same in both games, but they each provide exclusive content to tempt players to purchase that version and trade with others who bought the other, or just buy both versions when possible.

Pokémon Violet Has The Best Exclusives

A Pokémon trainer riding on Koraidon, Scarlet's Legendary.

Saying whether Pokémon Scarlet or Violet is best is a personal and subjective choice. It essentially comes down to the individual's preference of which Pokémon the player prefers. That said, there does seem to be a bit of a subtle nod toward Scarlet being focused on the past while Violet embodies a bit more futuristic feel. Violet's Legendary Miraidon is a metallic lizard that can transform into a sleek motorcycle for the player to ride across Paldea, as opposed to Scarlet's Koraidon appearing more as an ancient bird that uses its legs more than wheels in travel form. In this, Miraidon absolutely looks faster and sleeker. As if that wasn't reason enough for Violet to take the lead, it also offers the Eiscue Pokémon, the adorable penguin with an ice cube for a head that first appeared in Pokémon Sword and Shield.

The total Pokémon after Scarlet and Violet has once again increased the Pokédex size, and new trainers are eager to get out and catch them all. While the exclusives between Pokémon Scarlet and Violet are notable, they both offer some wonderful Pokémon, so it's always good to get out and trade with friends to complete the collection.
