Pokémon Scarlet and Violet just released Samurott into the game as another 7-Star Mightiest Mark Tera Raid. Samurott is the Unovan Water-type starter final evolution and for this raid it is Tera type Bug-. However, beating it is not easy as trainers have had to come up with many strategies due to its type resistance, ability, and status moves. Being prepared for this raid beforehand gives trainers a better chance at quickly beating it.
When deciding on a Pokémon to use during this Bug-type Tera Raid in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet, first look at Samurott's original Water-typing. This is because Samurott still has access to its same-type attack bonus moves. For example, the move Aqua Cutter, which can be a problem for some Pokémon facing it, takes down Ground- or Fire-type Pokémon quickly. Therefore, do not bring Pokémon like Great Tusk or a Charizard Raid Build which are both weak to Water-type moves. Instead, consider bringing Gyarados or Cloyster to resist its moves and defend against it.

- Search the map for a glowing black Bug-type symbol.
- Fly, run, or surf over to the 7-Star Bug-type Samurott raid and click A on the raid to begin.

Many Pokémon are viable to solo the 7-Star Samurott Raid in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet. Thankfully, all Pokémon that work well are also accessible for capture in both Pokémon Scarlet and Pokémon Violet. The first Pokémon to consider using is Cloyster because of its Shell Armor preventing Samurott from making a critical hit.
The second Pokémon to solo Samurott is Gyarados due to its Flying- and Water-typing resisting most of Samurott's moves. The third Pokémon a trainer can use is Bellibolt due to its bulk and ability Electromorphosis dealing heavy Special Attack damage to Samurott. Regardless of which Pokémon the trainer chooses, prioritizing physical defensive stats are a must.

To get started with this Pokémon Scarlet and Violet Tera Raid, Samurott will begin with the set-up moves Focus Energy and Bulldoze. After taking 2 turns start hitting Samurott with moves like Chilling Water or Rock Blast.
At around 80% HP, according to Game8.co, Samurott will then put up a shield and nullify its opponent's abilities and stat changes on the next turn. Next start setting up with stat-changing moves such as Iron Defense on Cloyster or Dragon Dance on Gyarados.
After the defensive set-up, this is where Cloyster comes in with Shell Smash maxing out its Attack and Speed. Alternatively, both Gyarados and Bellibolt have moves that can trigger its Tera type which then gives them both new resistances to Samurott's moves. Finally, depending on what Pokémon the trainer is using unleash powered-up moves to finish it off before it continues to get stronger and the time runs out.
