The artistic wife of a fan has drawn an impressive rendition of the new 'bike Legendaries' theory now spreading online about Pokémon Scarlet & Violet. The theory sprung up in response to the recent reveal of the new Legendary Pokémon.

When Koraidon and Miraidon were revealed, one curious aspect of their designs that instantly grabbed the attention of fans was their similarities to vehicles. Koraidon appears to have a wheel embedded into its chest, whilst its counterpart Miraidon has legs that resemble jet engines. Both have antennae of some kind emerging from their heads, which could likewise be construed as handlebars. The shared part of their names, -raidon, even sounds like 'ride on' when spoken. Some have theorized that these details point towards the new Legendaries having an unusual ability; that Koraidon can transform into a motorcycle, and Miraidon a similar, albeit jet-powered vehicle. Moreover, the theory states that they will most likely be rideable by the player in these alternate forms. With the concept of Ride Pokémon already being well established, the theory has quickly gained traction as a logical extension of the existing game mechanic.

Now one fan's wife has produced an impressive piece of artwork based on this theory. Uploaded by Reddit user tonytheshark, the image depicts a trainer performing an Akira-style slide with Koraidon in motorcycle form. The artist chose not to have Koraidon's antennae become the handlebars, instead making creative use of a pair of purple shoulder spikes as inspiration. The image, which tonytheshark describes simply as a "prediction of what...'bike mode' might look like," is very well drawn, looking very much like a piece of official concept art. Much like Koraidon, the design of the trainer is taken from the recent second trailer, as one of the customized characters seen engaging in the new co-op mode.

With the extremely evocative designs of Koraidon and Miraidon, it seems likely that there will be at least some level of vehicle-related lore for them. Whether or not they will truly become a unique kind of Ride Pokémon remains to be seen, but the concept of vehicles will probably tie into the themes of past and future being built up around Pokémon Scarlet & Violet. It could be that in keeping with a historical theme, the true 'Bike Koraidon' will have a much more primal design than what has been imagined here. Of course, it should be noted that any design can have differing interpretations, much like how tonytheshark's wife chose to convert Koraidon's shoulder spikes into handlebars rather than its antennae. The other legendary Pokémon has encountered a similar issue, with Miraidon bearing a remarkably NSFW appearance when viewed from the right (or wrong) angle.

If the rumor proves true, the implementation of vehicle forms for the Pokémon Scarlet & Violet Legendaries will likely make for an interesting gameplay feature. If the implementation is anything like this artwork depicts, it may even be one of the more exciting parts of the new adventure. After all, while an actual imitation of Akira will probably not be in the cards for gameplay, it must be said that using a literally Legendary form of transport will likely prove to be an exhilarating experience. And as the theory gains ground, this will certainly not be the last piece of amazing Pokémon fan art to imagine what the new Legendaries may look like in these potential alternate forms.
