To evolve Eevee into Glaceon or Cetoddle into Cetitan, Trainers will need an Evolution Item in Pokémon Scarlet & Violet called the Ice Stone. Much like the rest of the evolutionary stones in the game, this resource can be challenging to obtain, especially when multiple pocket monsters require the object for their evolution. Stones such as the Fire Stone, Water Stone, or Leaf Stone can all be purchased from the Delibird Presents shops in Paldea once Trainers have acquired three Gym Badges. However, the Ice Stone is not included in this list, making it a notably rarer find to procure.

There are two primary ways to get Ice Stones in Pokémon Scarlet & Violet. The first method involves the Auction House in Porto Marinada, a marketplace that becomes accessible once players unlock the ability to swim after defeating the Open Sky Titan. The Auction House features multiple NPC vendors that sell different items daily. However, unlike Delibird Presents, players cannot directly purchase the goods. If an Ice Stone is up for auction, Trainers must outbid other NPCs to get the item. This approach might cost several hundred to several thousands of Pokédollars, making it quite risky for those lacking funds.

Ice Stone Map Locations in Pokémon Scarlet & Violet

Alternatively, a safer and more reliable means of finding Ice Stones in Pokémon Scarlet & Violet is through exploration. Currently, there are two known locations that have a guaranteed spawn for this Evolution Item. On the other hand, Trainers can try their hand at farming item pickups on the northern parts of Glaseado Mountain. According to PowerPyx, this zone has small sparkling nodes that yield a variety of items but can occasionally produce an Ice Stone. The chances are slim, but it is a better alternative than spending ₽6,000 or more at the Auction House.

As for the two guaranteed drop locations for Ice Stones in Pokémon Scarlet & Violet, the first has been discovered by YouTuber Gamer Guru. They encountered an Ice Stone atop a snowy hill south of the Pokémon Center of Glaseado Mountain. This hilltop overlooks the grassy woodlands of Western Province (Area Three). The second location that will generate an Ice Stone is the rocky area south of the Pokémon Center at Dalizapa Passage. After dropping into the massive pit at this location, Trainers can start making their way through the ravine by platforming onto the stony platforms forming a path. Along this rather hazardous pathway, players will encounter the second guaranteed Ice Stone in Pokémon Scarlet & Violet.
