Game Freak and Nintendo are known for giving players purchase bonuses to their consumers, and Pokémon Scarlet and Violet will be no different. These gifts are often pre-order bonuses but can also be a bonus for purchasing digital copies of the game or specific versions of the game. Usually, these gifts/bonuses are only available for a limited amount of time and most recently are available for download via the Nintendo e-shop.

Pre-order bonuses for Pokémon games started with Pokémon Gold and Silver, where a CD containing upcoming product previews, wallpaper, music, and a trivia game was included with the game. Other player purchase bonuses for previous games have included commemorative coins, Pokémon figures, posters, keychains, in-game uniforms, in-game Poké Balls, and more. Many of the previous pre-order bonuses were different depending on the country and the retailer where the player purchased the game.

The purchase bonuses for Pokémon Scarlet and Violet were announced during Pokémon Presents on August 3. The first purchase bonus is only available if players pre-order the game, in either digital or physical copy. Those who pre-order Scarlet and Violet will receive a special in-game Pikachu with a rare Flying Tera Type, the latest gimmick that gives Scarlet and Violet Pokémon a crystallized look and can change their type during battle. This Pikachu will be available to players as soon as the Mystery Gifts function is unlocked, which is about 90 minutes into the game. Those who pre-order can claim this Pikachu up until February 28, 2023.

The other two purchase bonuses do not require players to pre-order the games; however, they each have their own stipulations. Players who purchase a digital copy of either Pokémon Scarlet or Pokémon Violet will also receive an Adventure Set code that can be redeemed via the Mystery Gift function in-game with an internet connection. The Adventure Set includes 10 Potions, five Full Heals, three Revives, three Ethers, one Rare Candy, and one Nugget. These will be available to claim any time before March 7, 2023. Players who purchase the Double Pack of Pokémon Scarlet and Violet, instead of choosing, whether it be the digital or physical copy, will also receive two codes for 100 Poké Balls each that can be claimed via the Mystery Gift function in-game. There is no known expiration date for this purchase bonus.

Purchase bonuses benefit both Nintendo and players by selling more copies of the game and giving players advantages from the start. Pokémon Scarlet and Violet has three currently known purchase bonuses for players who pre-order, purchase a digital copy, or purchase the Double Pack. While there is currently no known physical purchase bonus like a commemorative coin or keychain, There are still a couple of months before the game's release where players could see more purchase bonuses announced.
