Pokemon Mystery Dungeon Rescue Team DX is a game about building bonds and friendships with other Pokemon. The Friend Bow is a helpful item in doing so and this guide will help players locate it. Pokemon Mystery Dungeon Rescue Team DX recently released for the Nintendo Switch, providing a new art style similar to a children's book and combining content from the original games that released back on the Game Boy Advance and the Nintendo DS, Pokemon Red and Blue Rescue Team. In this game, players take control of a Pokemon, who claims to previously have been human. Unlike the traditional Pokemon series, humans don't exist and capture these creatures for compassion and companionship. The Pokemon live in their own made society, with distance towns and an economy of their own. The player character teams up with another Pokemon to join a rescue team so they can help put other Pokemon in the world in need of assistance. Players will scavenge randomly generated mystery dungeons, floor by floor, in order to reach they're objective. A big part of growing in this game is creating a team with other Pokemon with the same mission. Recruiting Pokemon is essential to being a better rescue team and the Friend Bow makes it easier to achieve. This guide will help players locate the Friend Bow in Pokemon Mystery Dungeon Rescue Team DX.

The Friend Bow is an equipable item for the Pokemon to increase the chances of a Pokemon willing to join the players' team after being defeated. To recruit Pokemon in this game, it happens randomly after defeating a Pokemon in a dungeon. For example, while exploring the Tiny Woods, players can encounter a Pidgey. Defeating the Pidgey has the chance to recruit it to the team. They will quickly faint then reappear requesting to join the team. This brings them along for the rest of the adventure. If the Pidgey faints during the adventure, the player has lost the opportunity to keep them. The Friend Bow increases the chances of a Pokemon requesting to join the team by 10%. This may not seem like a lot, but considering each floor of a mystery dungeon can contain potentially up to 10 to 20 battles due to the speed of these fights, increasing these odds makes it much easier to friend a certain Pokemon. Also, with the introduction of Shiny Pokemon in Pokemon Mystery Dungeon Rescue Team DX, the Friend Bow is an excellent item to have these Pokemon join the team. Considering there are only 27 Shiny Pokemon to encounter in the game, this is something shiny hunters should be interested in. There are two main methods of collecting a Friend Bow. These are the two methods needed to get this equipable item.

Friend Bow Location in Pokemon Mystery Dungeon Rescue Team DX

It is important to mention that the Friend Bow can only be unlocked after defeating the main story. Pokemon Mystery Dungeon Rescue Team DX has massive postgame content that can leave players returning to the game for hours and new dungeons to explore contains dozens of floors with new Pokemon. The first location is only accessible in the post-game, Mt. Faraway. Mt. Faraway is a 60- floor dungeon that unlocks after completing the rest of the Mirage Pokemon quest in the game and requires to first defeat Suicune in the Northwind Field before being allowed to enter. The top floor also contains Ho-Oh, the legendary Pokemon that debuted in Pokemon Gold and Silver. To find the Friend Bow, the player only needs to reach the 30th floor. It will always appear on the 30th floor unless the player already has a Friend Bow. Search around through the entire floor to find it. If the player wishes to be daring, they can continue up to Mt. Faraway and complete the dungeon. Although, if the player dies, they will lose most of their inventory, meaning the Friend Bow can be lost. It's recommended to escape the Dungeon beforehand if supplies are running low and return at a later time.

Another method of achieving the Friend Bow comes from the Kecleon Shops inside of the Joyous Tower. The Joyous Tower is one of the largest dungeons in the game, containing over 99 floors to explore and is only unlocked after finishing the Pitfall Valley dungeon. Explore all of the floors until arriving at a Kecleon Shop. It is completely random if the Kecleon Shop will be selling the item, so it may take a few attempts for it to spawn. Also, there is no massive fight at the end fo the dungeon. Completing the dungeon will provide the player with 3 Joy Seeds and 11 Deluxe Chests. If it does, the Friend Bow can be purchased for 5000 Pokedollars. Once it is purchased, it's recommended to escape as soon as possible, as the dungeon does not contain something worth searching for in its depths.  This is a steep price for the item but well worth it for those planning to recruit plenty of Pokemon. These are the only two methods to find the Friend Bow in Pokemon Mystery Dungeons Rescue Team DX.

Pokemon Mystery Dungeon Rescue Team DX is a substantial departure from the mainline Pokemon titles. This was the era of the Pokemon Company where spinoff series was being developed at a rapid pace. In this same generation, the Pokemon company would release games like Pokemon Colosseum, a spinoff Pokemon title where players would take control of an ex-criminal on his path of retribution to fix the damage his organization has created in the world of Pokemon and Pokemon Pinball, a casual pinball experience themed entirely around capturing Pokemon. The Pokemon series was much more experimental on the types of games they created during this era. Although, that's not to say that this current era does not contain its own gems. For example, Pokemon Go was a massive success that brought in millions of dollars of revenue and encouraged its users to go outside and exercise. But when considering the series's roots, Pokemon Mystery Dungeons did an excellent job in expanding the world of Pokemon and building bonds along the way.
