Warning: Contains SPOILERS for Pokémon Master Journeys: The Series.

Pokémon Master Journeys: The Series is set to contain many legendary Pokémon ahead of its imminent release this Friday. Part 1 of the series will be available to stream exclusively on Netflix, almost 10 months after its initial premiere in Japan, with new episodes releasing quarterly. Pokémon Master Journeys is a follow-up to Pokémon: Journeys and marks the 24th season of the immensely popular animated series dating back to 1997.

Pokémon Master Journeys is far more ambitious in its scope than its predecessor of the same name, including all 8 known Pokémon regions within the narrative. Master Journeys continues the research fellowship plotline centered around the iconic Ash Ketchum, who will line up alongside the returning Goh and Chloe Cerise as they attempt to "catch em' all" once again. Jesse, James, and Meowth are also set to appear in attempts to hamper Ash's progress and deliver ample servings of nostalgia in equal measure.

Due to Pokémon Master Journeys featuring every Pokémon region, including Sword and Shield's Galar, there will be no shortage of legendary Pokémon for Ash and company to encounter. Some have already been teased in the Netflix trailer and promotional artwork, respectively, while others arrive for their first series appearances since 2016. Here's Every legendary Pokémon in Pokémon Master Journeys: The Series so far.

Suicune

To many, Suicune is synonymous with the golden age of the Pokémon franchise as the mascot of Pokémon Crystal. Alongside earlier Game Boy Color editions Gold and Silver, Pokémon Crystal introduced Suicune as the most prominent member of the legendary dog trio, featured in almost every mainline Pokémon game since. Suicune appears as the poster child for Pokémon Master Journeys: The Series, featuring prominently in the Netflix season previews. Ash and Goh come face to face with the Pokémon early in the new season, saving the legendary Suicune from evil hunters and befriending him in the process.

Darkrai

Darkrai is somewhat of an oddity in Pokémon lore, playing both the role of villain and hero in equal measure since his debut in Pokémon Diamond and Pearl. A legendary Pokémon capable of inducing nightmares among whole cities at a time and going toe to toe with other legendaries like Dialga, this horror movie-esque creature is not to be trifled with. For Ash, Goh, and Cerise, these warnings mean little after they deign to investigate the mysterious dreams afflicting the Sinnoh region. Darkrai features prominently in Pokémon Master Journeys, setting up key conflicts ahead of his return to Newmoon Island.

Cresselia

Cresselia is an unsurprising inclusion for Pokémon Master Journeys given the series' Darkrai plotlines. Cresselia, like Darkrai, was first introduced in the 4th generation Pokémon games and existed in the Pokémon Diamond and Pearl universe as a foil to her dark counterpart. Able to negate the nightmares caused by Darkrai, Cresselia is, naturally, found by Ash and Goh in time to save Sinnoh and restore order to the residents' sleep patterns.

Mew

Mew holds its paws to its face in the Pokemon anime

An extremely rare Pokémon only seen by a handful of trainers, the legendary Mew is the holy grail around which Pokémon Master Journeys: The Series is formed. Professor Oak enrolls Ash and Goh in Project Mew early in the series as part of Ash's ongoing research fellowship, tasking the boys with finding the mythical Pokémon. Mew has so far only been teased in Pokémon Master Journeys flashbacks, with the series seemingly building towards his appearance in the finale. The final Netflix preview showing Goh staring at an unseen Pokémon in Sword and Shield's Crown Tundra supports this conclusion, given this is where trainers could catch all manner of legendary Pokémon in the Nintendo Switch games. Goh catching the rarest Pokemon of them all, and fulfilling his boyhood dream in process, would make a very fitting end indeed to Pokémon Master Journeys: The Series.
