A small Pokémon Legends: Arceus patch fixes a bug with receiving the shiny charm. The shiny charm has been a series staple for several generations, and is usually the reward the player receives once the Pokédex is complete. Pokémon Legends: Arceus is no exception to this.

Getting the shiny charm in Pokémon Legends: Arceus can be a time-consuming task. Players have to not only catch all of the Pokémon in the Hisui region, they also have to fill out all of the Pokédex entries for each Pokémon. But the reward for meeting these requirements is worth the effort, as it makes hunting shiny Pokémon even easier. The shiny charm is just one way to increase the rates of encountering shiny Pokémon in Pokémon Legends: Arceus, as filling out Pokédex entries also increases the shiny odds for each Pokémon. So completing the Pokédex and receiving the shiny charm will both drastically increase the odds for encountering various shiny Pokémon.

Pokémon Legends: Arceus version 1.1.1 (via ComicBook) fixed a bug that prevented players from receiving the shiny charm from professor Laventon upon completing the Pokédex. The exact details of this bug aren’t fully known, but not being able to receive the shiny charm for all of the hard work required to obtain it would be an annoyance to players who have put in that effort. But now that this bug is fixed, players don’t need to worry that Laventon won’t give them the reward that they’ve earned.

The daybreak update in Pokémon Legends: Arceus added a variety of new content. This includes new requests that unlock massive mass outbreaks which involve mass outbreaks of alpha Pokémon. These outbreaks also increase the odds of encountering shiny Pokémon. The update also included the ability to rematch legendary Pokémon like Origin Dialga and Palkia.

While it’s not known just how often this bug was encountered, it very much was a necessity to fix. Not being able to receive a 100% completion reward can be a slap to the face for many players that have worked hard to reach that point. The Pokédex in Pokémon Legends: Arceus isn’t as hard to complete as past Pokémon games in part due to the amount of Pokémon available, as well as the ability to catch them without battling, but it does still require a time dedication regardless. It’s unknown if there will be any more substantial content updates to Pokémon Legends: Arceus like Daybreak, but small updates that patch out annoying bugs such as these are always welcome to receive.
