Pokémon Legends: Arceus has dozens of rare Pokémon that can be found throughout the territories, and one of the rarest finds in the game is a Togepi. Togepi is a fan-favorite Pokémon that was changed from a Normal-type to a Fairy-type in generation VI, and it continues to be a Fairy-type Pokémon in Pokémon Legends: Arceus. While there are a few places that players can catch Togepi, they can easily find one early on in Pokémon Legends: Arceus with a little bit of exploration.

Togepi is one of the 13 baby Pokémon in Pokémon Legends: Arceus, and given its small stature, Togepi will run away from trainers as soon as it spots them. Pokémon that begin to run away as soon as they spot players can be difficult to capture, primarily because they'll disappear completely if trainers don't act quickly. In most cases, players have a maximum of three catch attempts before any frightened Pokémon successfully runs away, but the window of opportunity to catch a Togepi could leave players with only one shot to catch it.

Attempting to get into a battle with Togepi will not help players either, as the baby Pokémon will most likely run away from the fight as soon as the battle begins. Before trying to catch Togepi, players should increase their Pokémon Legends: Arceus Star Level Rank to Rank 3 so that they can craft Great Balls. Great Balls have a higher catching success rate than Poké Balls do, and can be thrown further and faster than Heavy Balls. Alternatively, the best chance players have for catching a Togepi early is to make sure they have plenty of Heavy Balls in their inventory, and then lure out the Togepi with a berry or Dazzling Honey.

Where To Find & Catch Togepi In Pokémon Legends: Arceus

Pokémon Legends: Arceus Crimson Mirelands Togepi Location

Players who want to catch a Togepi as quickly as possible should head to the Crimson Mirelands and navigate their way to Cottonsedge Prairie. To reach Cottonsedge Prairie, players will have to make their way east from Mirelands Camp, down and around the Scarlet Bog, up north and around east of Lake Valor, and back down south is Cottonsedge Prarie. Additionally, this is the same route players would take to catch the generation IV starter Turtwig in Pokémon Legends: Arceus. Once players reach Cottonsedge Prairie, Togepi can be found on the closed-off side of the canyon.

To catch Togepi, the best option is to get as close as possible to it and throw the Great Ball at it as it runs away. Although catching Togepi this way doesn't leave much room for error, players can significantly increase their chances of catching any Pokémon from behind in Pokémon Legends: Arceus. Adding Togepi to the team, then later Togetic and Togekiss, is a great choice as Fairy-Type Pokémon are incredibly strong in Pokémon Legends: Arceus.
