The Shiny Charm is a vital part of Pokémon Legends: Arceus when it comes to Shiny hunting. As with other games in the series that include it, the Shiny Charm increases the spawn rates of Shiny Pokémon by a wide margin, but it takes some extra effort to actually acquire this important item. Thankfully, getting the Shiny Charm in Legends: Arceus is now easier thanks to the latest version update.

In the main story of Pokémon Legends: Arceus, Professor Laventon tasks players with filling up the first-ever Pokédex. This goes hand-in-hand with the other main quest, given by Arceus, to "meet every Pokémon." Getting the Shiny Charm in Legends: Arceus takes more than just beating the main story, as players will need to get Research Level 10 in all Pokédex entries first. From there, they can speak with Laventon to get the Shiny Charm.

However, a bug in the game at launch reportedly prevented some players from getting the Shiny Charm from Laventon despite having completed the requirements to unlock it. Understandably, this was annoying - it meant dozens of hours of hard work hadn't paid off. And to those players who were especially wanting it to help with Shiny hunting, it was particularly frustrating. It wasn't just hours wasted - it also meant Pokémon Legends: Arceus' Shiny rates wouldn't increase.

Thankfully, this Shiny Charm bug has now been fixed. The Version 1.1.1 update corrected this bug, so players shouldn't have to worry about missing out on getting the Shiny Charm in Legends: Arceus - so long as they've met the Pokédex requirements and spoken to Laventon. It's unknown just how many players have actually encountered this problem, but it was enough to warrant many complaints - and it's great that it's finally been fixed.

Catching Shiny Pokémon in Legends: Arceus has been much easier than in past games, thanks to multiple factors like Mass Outbreaks that increase Shiny rates and getting to see Pokémon walking around in the wild (making Shinies easier to spot). The Shiny Charm increases those rates even more, and it's now easier to get since the bug has been fixed that prevented players from getting it.

Despite a few new additions in the Daybreak update and some smaller patches that have provided fixes, there hasn't been a lot of new content added to Pokémon Legends: Arceus since launch. Hopefully, more DLC is on the way - although none has been officially announced thus far. In the meantime, players can try to add to their Shiny Pokémon collections while they wait for new content to be added in.
