Magnemite and Magneton are among the few species in Pokémon Legends: Arceus that players cannot get by locating their habitat. Both Magnemite and Magneton are Electric- and Steel-type Pokémon with strong ties to magnetism, so it's no wonder that neither Pokémon makes their home in the Hisui region by choice. In fact, the only Pokémon in this evolution line that players can find naturally in the Hisui region is Magnezone, but there's a specific in-game reason for that.

Players can get Magnezone in Pokémon Legends: Arceus by finding and catching the Pokémon in the Coronet Highlands on its own, without any signs of Magnemite or Magneton in the area. Magnezone's Pokédex entry states that Professor Laventon theorizes that a "special magnetic field influenced this Pokémon, changing its molecular structure and causing it to evolve. It emits radio waves toward space from its antenna." While it's unclear where Magnemite and Magneton make their home in Pokémon Legends: Arceus, Magnezone likely travels to the Coronet Highlands because it's the highest peak in the Hisui region. This would give them the ability to send radio waves into space more easily and would explain why players can find three Magnezone consistently in the Coronet Highlands.

How Magnezone even got to the Hisui region in the first place is still a mystery, but it may have something to do with the Space-Time Distortion zones in Pokémon Legends: Arceus. As many players know, Space-Time Distortion zones in Pokémon Legends: Arceus are places where Pokémon that aren't normally supposed to be in the area appear for a limited time. This includes Magnemite and Magneton, and multiple of each Pokémon are likely attracted by the magnetism or electric fields of the Coronet Highlands, thus resulting in the Magnezone players can find and catch. Though it would seem natural to find Magnemite and Magneton in the Coronet Highlands Space-Time Distortions, they're actually found further east.

Pokemon Legends Arceus Where To Find Space Time Distortions And What They Do

Players can find and catch both Magnemite and Magneton in the Space-Time Distortion areas that appear in the Cobalt Coastlands. All types of Poké Balls in Pokémon Legends: Arceus can be used to catch Magnemite and Magneton in the Space-Time Distortions, as they won't be flying around the area like the Magnezone do in the Coronet Highlands. However, Magnemite and Magneton are both aggressive Pokémon, so players should be ready to act fast if they aim to catch as many as possible.

Magnemite will evolve into Magneton beginning at level 30, and Magneton can evolve into Magnezone by heading to the Coronet Highlands or by using a Thunder Stone. For players who are completing the story, the Coronet Highlands is the next area that is unlocked after the Cobalt Coast Lands. Thunder Stones can be found by destroying ores or finding them in Space-Time Distortions as well, or they can be purchased from the Trading Post in Pokémon Legends: Arceus with Merit Points.
