In Pokémon Legends: Arceus, players may want to evolve Hisuian Growlithe into Hisuian Arcanine to add a powerful Fire-Rock type to their team and work toward completing their Pokédex. To evolve Hisuian Growlithe, players will first need to find this Fire/Rock-type Pokémon in the wild and use a Fire Stone to complete the evolution. Hisuian Growlithe will be easily identifiable by its deep red color and fluffy white fur.

To find Growlithe and make the catch in Pokémon Legends: Arceus, players, should travel to Cobalt Coastlands and head to the area East of the Veilstone Cape. Once players spot the canine Pokémon Hisuian Growlithe in the wild, they should hide within the tall grass as they approach the Pokémon. Players can use Berries or one of Hisuian Growlithe's preferred food items, Springy Mushroom, Hearty Grains, or Plump Beans, to create a distraction. This will give the player an opportunity to throw a Poké Ball to try and catch Growlithe. Players should expect the wild Hisuian Growlithe to be between levels 41-44.

Within the Cobalt Coastlands, Hisuian Growlithe can be the featured Pokémon during a mass outbreak in Pokémon Legends: Arceus. In addition to the mass outbreak causing many Growlithe to spawn, this will also significantly increase the player's chance of finding a shiny Hisuian Growlithe during the timed outbreak. Furthermore, another location with Hisuian Growlithe roaming the wild is the tall mountain at Windbreak Stand within Cobalt Coastlands, which players will need to use mount Pokémon Sneasler or Hisuian Braviary to access. Regardless of where players choose to hunt for Hisuian Growlithe, it is available at all times of the day and during any weather.

How to Evolve Growlithe in Pokémon Legends: Arceus Using a Fire Stone

Once players have successfully caught a Hisuian Growlithe in the wild, they will need a Fire Stone in Pokémon Legends: Arceus to evolve it into Hisuian Arcanine. One of the easier in-game methods to find this evolutionary item is finding one from Tumblestone ores. These ores are visible poking out of the ground, and players can send out their Pokémon to break the ore and obtain the various items inside. If the Tumblestone ore is sparkling, that indicates it contains a rare material, such as a potential Fire Stone.

Players can also acquire a Fire Stone from the Trading Post in Jubilife Village. Purchasing a Fire Stone from the Trading Post may require a lot of grinding, as it will cost 1,000 Merit Points. Unfortunately, players can only acquire Merit Points by returning Lost Satchels, which only average about 50 Merit Points per satchel. A much easier way to obtain the Fire Stone is to complete the quest "Request 52: Eevee's Evolutions." Once players complete this request in Pokémon Legends: Arceus by finding Eevee, they will be rewarded with the option to choose one of the three evolution stones, including the Fire Stone. Of note, this quest is only unlocked after players complete "Request 48: The Taste of Home."

To use a Fire Stone, players will simply need to give the item to their  Hisuian Growlithe. This will cause Growlithe to evolve into Hisuian Arcanine, identifiable by its large size, dark red body, and fluffy grey fur. Using a Fire Stone on  Growlithe is the only way to obtain Arcanine, as the evolved form of this canine Pokémon cannot be found in the wild.
