Copies of Pokémon Legends: Arceus have leaked online and models for all of the Pokémon are now available online. The leak has revealed that there are many returning Pokémon from the history of the series, as well as some brand new ones that are unique to the Hisui region. Using these lists, players will be able to plan ahead for their own Legends: Arceus adventures.

[Warning - spoilers for Pokémon Legends: Arceus ahead!]

The Pokémon franchise has endured near-constant leaks throughout the series. The popularity of the series is such that copies will make their way online and fans will go through them. This means all of the Pokémon will be revealed, the teams of the enemy Trainers will be scrutinized, and the overall story will be spoiled. The Mythical Pokémon were always leaked way ahead of their official reveal, as all of the data relating to them were already present in the game. Luckily, Game Freak can now add Pokémon through post-launch updates, so Mythical Pokémon can remain a secret.

Pokémon Legends: Arceus has leaked, thanks to early copies falling into the hands of fans who have datamined the game and are now revealing its secrets online. The PoryLeeks and BallGuyLEAKS Twitter accounts have uploaded images from the game's early release, showing all of the Pokémon that have thus far been found within the files of Pokémon Legends: Arceus, and there's plenty to see.

The original 151 Pokémon are still beloved by fans around the world, so it's no surprise that there are lots of Gen 1 Pokémon in Pokémon Legends: Arceus. There is one Pokémon that should be missing - Porygon. This is a Pokémon that is composed entirely out of computer code, yet it somehow exists in an era before the invention of computers, when Pokémon trainers keep their Pokémon on farms. The Porygon evolutions also appear in the game, raising even more questions about why and how they are in the Hisui region.

It also seems that the Hisuian Mewtwo rumors can be put to bed, as these made the rounds, even though it makes no sense, as the original Mewtwo was specifically made during the Pokémon Red and Blue era. The only way this would work is if there was a Hisuian Mew and it had an evolution, and the scientists in the modern era stumbled upon the same concept of a Mew evolution by accident.

There is a lot of Gen 2 representation in Pokémon Gold and Silver, including a few surprising additions. It's odd to see Steel-types like Steelix among the Pokémon, as the Metal Coat item and the concept of Steel-type trade evolutions was treated as a fresh discovery in Pokémon Gold and Silver, yet they exist in the Hisui region. This could be a case of the Pokémon franchise ignoring its own timeline again, as the new additions to the series are often integrated without question, such as how Fairy-type Pokémon suddenly appeared throughout the world in Pokémon X and Y, including existing Pokémon suddenly gaining the type.

There isn't as much Gen 3 representation as there is for the earlier games, but that's to be expected. The Gen 3 games already had their big remakes on the Nintendo 3DS, in the form of Pokémon Omega Ruby and Pokémon Alpha Sapphire. The current games are all about promoting the Sinnoh region, so it's not surprising to see the Hoenn Pokémon of Ruby and Sapphire taking a back seat.

As a distant prequel to Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl, it should come as no surprise that Pokémon Legends: Arceus has a ton of Pokémon from the Sinnoh region. There are a few surprising additions here, such as some of the new evolutions that were introduced in Gen 4, like Magmortar and Tangrowth. There is only a handful of Gen 5 and Gen 6 Pokémon in the mix, which is why they were bundled with the Gen 4 Pokémon. It makes sense not to dwell on the later generations much, as they will eventually get their time in the sun when the remakes of Pokémon Black and White and Pokémon X and Y are developed.

The bulk of the new Pokémon in Pokémon Legends: Arceus are Hisuian variants or Hisuian evolutions of existing Pokémon. A lot of these have been seen in promotional material for the games, and many of them appeared in leaks, which can now be confirmed as legitimate. What is surprising is the new member of the Forces of Nature group from Pokémon Black and White, as it could mean that Pokémon Legends: Arceus will hint towards a Pokémon: Legends sequel set in the Unova region.
