The "Voltorb from the Hisui Region?!" task has come to Pokémon GO to celebrate the release of Pokémon Legends: Arceus for the Nintendo Switch. Pokémon Legends: Arceus is a new entry in the Pokémon series that focuses less on becoming the best trainer in the world and more on capturing every Pokémon in the region. It also introduced a handful of new regional variants of classic Pokémon, including Voltorb. Voltorb's Hisuian form is an Electric- and Grass-type Pokémon, unlike its original Kanto form which was just mono-Electric. It's common for Pokémon GO to introduce tie-in events whenever a new big-budget title is released. In conjunction with the release of Pokémon Legends: Arceus, Pokémon GO trainers will encounter many Hisuian Voltorb during the event.
During this Pokémon GO event, both Kantoan and Hisuian Voltrob will appear in the wild more frequently. This provides a great chance to collect tons of Voltorb candy in Pokémon GO to help their Kantoan and Hisuian Voltorb become stronger or evolve. While both species appear in the wild, only the Kantoan form has the chance to appear Shiny. Hisuian Voltorb does have a Shiny form in Pokémon Legends: Arceus as of now, but it's possible the Shiny form will be added to the game in a future update. This increased spawn rate also offers new special research tasks that can give players neat rewards.
There is no prerequisite needed to unlock the "Voltorb from the Hisui Region?!" task. It is fairly short compared to other special research tasks and can be completed in just two steps. In order to unlock the second step, players will need to complete the three challenges that come before it. Each challenge has its own reward for trainers to collect. The "Voltorb from the Hisui Region!?"special research can be found on the special tab within the quest menu.
Voltorb From The Hisui Region Special Research Tasks and Rewards in Pokémon GO
The "Voltorb from the Hisui Region?!" tasks in Pokémon GO ask players to complete the following steps to earn rewards:
Step 1/2
- Catch 10 Pokémon: Kantoan Voltorb encounter.
- Use 10 Berries to help catch Pokémon: Kantoan Voltorb encounter.
- Give your buddy three treats: Kantoan Voltorb encounter.
- Rewards: Three Razz Berries, Three Pinap Berries, and a Hisuian Voltorb encounter.
Step 2/2
- Catch 20 Pokémon: Kantoan Voltorb encounter.
- Use 20 berries to help catch Pokémon: Kantoan Voltorb encounter.
- Make 10 curveball throws: Kantoan Voltorb encounter.
- Rewards: Three Razz Berries, Three Pinap Berries, and a Hisuian Voltorb encounter.
The most challenging of these tasks will likely be "Make 10 curveball throws." It's always better to throw it far left or far right when throwing a curveball. That way, the ball will eventually find its way back to the center and land on the Pokémon. Combining this with the fast catch trick in Pokémon GO will make encounters happen even faster. This technique will take practice, but landing the curveball throw also increases the chances of capturing the Pokémon at which players threw the ball, adding to the potential rewards for completing the "Voltorb from the Hisui Region?!" special research tasks.
