Autumn is here and so is Paris Fashion Week, and to celebrate both, Pokémon GO has added new, shiny, and event-exclusive Pokémon to the mobile phenomenon. While the event-exclusive mons are special and won't be sticking around forever, the other new additions to Pokémon GO were added to celebrate the start of Fall and are here to stay.

Pokémon GO has made a habit of adding new beasts every so often to keep the mobile experience fresh. While the national Pokédex is made up of nearly 900 creatures, Pokémon GO only includes 600 different of them. Having launched in 2015 with only under 150 different species, the game has added a large portion of the dex over time. To pad out some of the missing ones, Pokémon GO has included special variants of certain Pokémon giving them hats or costumes to make them appear differently in the wild. These are most commonly found during events or around the holidays. Pokémon GO is filled with costumed monsters during October leading up to Halloween.

However, the new Pokémon and variants are not in celebration of Halloween but are to celebrate Autumn and Paris Fashion Week. To honor the Autumn season, Pokémon GO announced that it would be adding Deerling to the GO dex. This deer-like creature is also known as the Season Pokémon as its form changes with the seasons, and it will be debuting in its Autumn Form. In addition to Deerling, Pokémon GO is adding Kanto Vulpix's shiny form to the game which was previously unobtainable in the game. To celebrate Paris Fashion Week, Crogunk, Smoochum, Kirlia, and Shinx have all received stylish costume variants that can be found in the wild.

Deerling and shiny Vulpix are here to stay, but the Paris Fashion Week costumes won't be around for very long. The Paris Fashion Week Pokémon GO event started today and will end on Thursday, October 8 at 10 p.m. PDT. Players who want a Kirlia wearing a fedora or a Shiny in a bowler hat will need to act fast. There is also the chance that players could find these fashion week variants in their shiny forms which would make them even more valuable once the event ends.

It is nice to finally have shiny Kanto Vulpix available in-game, which means shiny Kanto Ninetails can also be obtained. These types of releases and events are what keep trainers coming back to Pokémon GO and what keeps the game fresh. Plus, who doesn't want a shiny Crogunk wearing a backwards flatbill hat?
