Shinx is the Pokemon taking over November's Community Day in Pokemon Go. Community Day has been a staple in Pokemon Go for many years. A single day per month, one Pokemon is placed in the Spotlight for three-to-six hours at a time. Its spawn rate is then drastically increased and players who are lucky can encounter its Shiny form. Community Day is often when Niantic introduces new Shiny Pokemon into the game. This Pokemon will also learn an exclusive move for evolving within the Community Day timeline. For November, players will be able to participate in a Shinx Community Day.

The Shinx Community Day will take place on Sunday, November 21st from 11 am to 5 pm local time. This gives players six hours to complete whatever they need to. The Shiny Odds are also increased during Community Day for Shinx. Players will have a 1/25 chance of finding its Shiny form. It's incredibly common for players to have duplicates of Shinies at the end of the event.

During Community Days in Pokemon Go, there will be active event bonuses. Players can expect 1/4 hatch distance and three hours of Incenses and Lure Modules, which typically only last for one. These tips and tricks will help players to optimize their time during Shinx Community Day. While six hours seems like a lot, there's still a lot that players can miss out on if they don't prepare.

Make The Best Out Of Shinx Community Day in Pokemon Go

Pokémon GO's November 2021 Community Day Chooses Shinx
  • Capture More Shiny Pokemon: While players only need three Shiny Shinx to complete the collection, make sure to keep a few to save for later. Pokemon Go is a social game, meaning that other players might be interested in that Shiny Shinx. It can be useful for trading down the line.
  • The Fast Catch Trick: This is a trick that allows players to skip the capturing animation when catching Pokemon. It saves tons of time between encounters, allowing players to invest that time into hunting for more Shiny Pokemon.
  • Flash, Spark, Gleam: This is the paid Special Research that players can complete during Community Day. It offers players bonus tasks throughout the day to keep them invested, all centered around Shinx and its evolutionary line. It costs $1 to purchase.
  • Tag Transfers Beforehand: Niantic is offering players x3 the transfer candy for transferring Pokemon during this event. Players should go down their list of Pokemon and tag any Pokemon they are comfortable with transferring. This candy can be used to make other Pokemon stronger or even evolve them. Players also have the chance of farming x4 XL Candy in Pokemon Go.
  • Psychic Fangs: This is a new Pokemon Go move making its debut during this Community Day. Players will be able to evolve Luxio during the event or up to two hours afterward in order to learn this move. It has 40 power and is guaranteed to lower to opposing Pokemon's defense during Trainer battles.
  • Free Pokeballs: Players will be able to head into the game shop during the event and pick up a bundle with 30 Ultra Balls. This bundle is completely free.
  • Incubate Eggs: With the hatch distance being at a fourth of what it previously was, make sure to incubate as many eggs as possible. Players can place their 2km eggs to clear them out quickly or put in a 10km egg to save time. This is an effective way to hatch eggs in Pokemon Go. Regardless, use this limited discount.

  • The Shiny Hunt: If players are focused on collecting as many Shiny Shinx as possible, they should run away from any non-shiny encounters. While players won't earn the benefits of capturing Pokemon like XP or Candy, this will save the player time to find more Shiny Shinx. Their spawn rates are already increased during the event.
  • Premium Community Day Box: Players are able to purchase a special Community Day Box for 1,280 PokeCoins. It will feature 50 Ultra Balls, four Incenses, four Star Pieces, and an Elite Charged TM. Overall, this item does not seem worth the PokeCoins investment. For many of these items, players can earn for free by playing the game or completing Special or Limited Research Tasks. Players are better off spending their PokeCoins on cosmetic items or on increasing Pokemon Box storage in Pokemon Go.
  • Candy Grinding: Players looking to create a powerful Luxray should grind up as much candy as possible. Candy can be used to power up a Pokemon, thus increasing its total CP and level. Every capture of a Shinx will reward the player with three candies. Using a Pinap Berry quickly double this number with every encounter. Players can also hatch Shinx eggs with the hatch distance cut. Hatching eggs in Pokemon Go gives more candy than catching Pokemon so make sure to fill the Incubators often. Players will need hundreds of Shinx candy to bring Luxray to its max stats.
  • Check Before Transferring: While players are occupied capturing Shinx, it is common for players to forget that Pokemon have their own individual stats. If players head into their menus, they can tap their Pokemon and choose Appraise. This will give it a ranking between zero and four stars. If the Pokemon has four stars, this means it is perfect. It has the potential to reach the highest stats of any Pokemon of its kind. Make sure to check if any three-to-four-star Shinx has been captured before transferring them. To save time, players can go to the search bar on the top and enter "4*" and the game will filter only the Pokemon with four stars. These Pokemon are incredibly rare so save them and power them up whenever they appear.

Pokemon Go players should also take snapshots throughout the day. In the player's bag, they will find a camera item. There is a chance a Shinx can make an appearance and photobomb the picture. Normally, this is how players are able to catch a Smergle in Pokemon Go, but for Community Day, it acts as another mechanic to play around with. November is also the release date of the upcoming Pokemon Diamond and Pearl remakes, a game from which Shinx originates. Players should save a Shiny Shinx to transfer over to Pokemon Home, the cloud-based storage system for storing Pokemon. The release date of the remake is only two days before the Shinx Community Day. Players can add Shinx to both their Pokemon Go and Pokemon Brillant Diamond and Shining Pearl experiences with this Community Day.
