Earlier in the year, Pokemon Go hosted its Kanto Tour event. This was a limited-time event where players were able to pay a ticket to access premium content. Amongst this content was the ability to encounter and capture Shiny versions of all 151 of the first Pokemon. Even after the event was over, players are still able to encounter these Pokemon out in the wild. Dratini and Dragonite are arguably some of the best Pokemon in the game and this Spotlight Hour allows players to profit big. Here are a few things players can do to prepare for this event.

How To Prepare For Dratini Spotlight Hour in Pokemon Go

Dratini Spotlight Hour will take place on May 11th from 6 pm to 7 pm local time. Here are a few ways players can prepare for this event.

  • Do Not Transfer Pokemon Beforehand: Usually, players are pushed to transfer Pokemon to make space for Dratini. Don't do that this time around. Instead, transfer all your unwanted Pokemon during the event. The game will be giving players double the amount of candy for Pokemon transferred during this time period.
  • Shiny Dratini: This is a great chance to find a Shiny Dratini. To improve your odds, tap a Pokemon, and leave once it's not Shiny. Players will have the whole hour to see if they can find one.
  • Lucky Egg: For every Pokemon caught, players will earn double the XP. Make sure to use one if you plan to capture a ton of Dratini.
  • Pinap Berries: Stock up on these to earn a ton of Dratini Candy. It's really rare to find normally so this is your best bet to get tons of candy.

Pokemon Go will host more Spotlight Hours in the future. The one after will be focused on Alolan Ratata. Take advantage of these limited-time events.
