Bulbasaur is having its own dedicated Spotlight Hour this July in Pokemon Go. This guide will show players how they can prepare for this event. Spotlight Hours are an event that happens once per week and focus on a single Pokemon. Similar to Community Day, a single Pokemon will have their spawn rates drastically increased for a limited time. For a single hour, players will be able to find a majority of only Bulbasaurs and this is perfect for those players looking to gather a ton of candy for this Pokemon. Most of the month of July is centered around the Kanto starters. This guide will show players how they can prepare for the Bulbasaur Spotlight Hour in Pokemon Go.

Here are the best ways for players to prepare for Bulbasaur Spotlight Hour. Once again, this event takes place from July 6th from 6 pm to 7pm.

  • Clear Our Your Pokemon Storage: Make sure to clear out your Pokemon Storage with any unwanted Pokemon. Make space for all the Bulbasaur the player is about to capture.
  • Lucky Egg: Since this event will provide players with double the XP for capturing Pokemon, players can pop a Lucky Egg to bring this up to x4 XP. Since Lucky Eggs only last 30 minutes, players can use 2 to make the most of the event.
  • Shiny Hunting: While Shiny odds are not increased during Spotlight Hour, players will still have the chance of encountering a Shiny Bulbasaur. To increase the player's chances, just tap on the Bulbasaur in the wild and run if it's not Shiny. This will save a ton of time between encounters.

Charmander will be the next Pokemon to take center stage during Spotlight Hour. Players should take advantage of the double XP before it's too late. It only gets more difficult to level up the farther the player gets in the game.
