After a community vote decided which Pokémon would be featured during the September and October Pokémon GO Community Days, the details for the upcoming Porygon Community Day have been revealed. Porygon won the community vote over Charmander, Caterpie, and Grimer, and will be featured later this month during the next Pokémon GO Community Day.

Pokémon GO has recently begun allowing its community to vote for the next Community Day Pokémon. The first vote was held in May of this year to decide which Pokémon would be featured during June and July. The vote is held via a poll on Twitter and the two Pokémon who receive the highest number of votes are the winners. Trainers were then able to vote in August for the September and October Community Day Pokémon. Porygon placed first raking in nearly 60% of the votes, while Charmander placed second with 33%.

The official Pokémon GO website made a blog post outlining the details of the Porygon Community Day event. The event will take place on Sunday, September 20 from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. local time. During the event, Porygon will appear more frequently in the wild, and its shiny rate will drastically increase. Players who manage to evolve Porygon2 into Porygon-Z during the event will be rewarded with the move Tri-Attack. There will be special research tasks building up to the event that will grant trainers the items they need in order to evolve Porygon. Trainers will also gain three-times the experience from catching Pokémon during the event, and incenses will last three hours.

In addition to the regular Pokémon GO Community Day festivities, trainers can purchase a Community Day Ticket for $1 USD which will grant access to the exclusive Community Day Research Story, Decoding Porygon. These tasks will help streamline the process of evolving Porygon into its respective evolutions. Players can also purchase a special one-time September Community Day Box which includes an Elite Fast TM, three incenses, six lucky eggs, and 30 Ultra Balls. The box costs 1,280 PokéCoins.

Trainers will finally have a much easier time getting their hands on a shiny Porygon thanks to the community's decision. Porygon is a Pokémon that could be mundane to shiny hunt in the past as it is primarily obtained through an NPC gifting them to the player. However, this upcoming Pokémon GO Community Day will allow players to get a handful of shiny Porygon.
