Galarian variations of Slowpoke and Slowbro, as well as the Mega Evolution of Slowbro, will soon be introduced to Pokémon GO. The Galarian variations of the Pokémon franchise's iconic monsters were first introduced in 2019's Pokémon Sword and Shield, which takes place in the UK-inspired Galar region.

Developer Niantic continues to support Pokémon GO in the form of updates and in-game events, which add new Pokémon or shine a spotlight on already-existing Pokémon. The upcoming June Community Day event, scheduled for June 6, will focus on the small Dragon/Ground-type Pokémon Gible. Gible is known as one of the rarest creatures to encounter in the mobile ARG, so this event will be a perfect opportunity for players to get their hands on one and evolve it into Garchomp. Another upcoming event for later in the summer, Pokémon GO Fest 2021, is also expected to add a brand-new Pokémon to the game's host of collectible monsters. Niantic recently announced that the event will be music-themed, leading many players to assume that Meloetta, the Melody Pokémon, will be added when the event launches on July 17.

According to Niantic, Pokémon GO will soon see the addition of numerous variations of the Pokémon Slowpoke and its evolution Slowbro. An upcoming event titled A Very Slow Discovery that runs from June 8 - 13 will see the in-game debut of Galarian Slowpoke, Galarian Slowbro, and Mega Slowbro. A Very Slow Discovery will place emphasis on slow or lazy Pokémon and will include a new Collection Challenge for players to tackle. There are plenty more events and special Pokémon planned for June 2021, including the return of the Solstice event from June 17 - 20, Spotlight Hours starring Dwebble, Abra, Slowpoke, Swinub, and Aipom, and a mystery event that players can "sink their two front teeth into" from June 15 to July 1.

Niantic's constant support of Pokémon GO through new content and events means that the game (much like the Pokémon it features) is always evolving. The game's May Community Day, which introduced the Altaria's Mega Evolution, had a noticeable effect on the game's balance. The unique creature is the only Pokémon in the franchise to be both a Dragon/Fairy-type, and this quality makes Mega Altaria very valuable. Many of its attacks are powerful and it has few type weaknesses, making it an extremely handy weapon during raids and trainer battles.

Pokémon GO has been able to maintain a loyal and dedicated playerbase, and this is largely due to the game's high-quality support. There's always something new to do or see in the game, and the addition of multiple Slowpoke and Slowbro variations are sure to attract the slothful pink creature's many fans.
