Farming XL Candy is an excellent way to power up your creatures in Pokémon Go. When trainers typically capture a Pokémon, they are rewarded with three candies of that Pokémon. This candy can then be reinvested into the Pokémon to help it evolve or to increase its CP. Regardless of what it is, collecting candy is vital for creating a team of powerful Pokémon. While normal candy can be found from capturing Pokémon, trainers will need to wait until they reach Level 40 to begin unlocking XL Candy. This is a special type of candy that will help further increases a Pokémon's stats well beyond Level 40.

Each XL Candy is Pokémon-specific, similar to the normal candy in the game. Although, it is possible to convert 100 normal candy into 1 XL Candy. While this isn't the most optimal way to spend a Pokémon's candy since it takes so much to collect a single piece, it is one of the many methods to grind. Fortunately, there are tons of different ways to grind for XL Candy.

The best way to earn more XL Candy in Pokémon Go is to simply capture as many Pokémon as possible. There is no way to guarantee that the player will receive XL Candy for capturing Pokémon, but there are certain situations where they will always appear. For example, capturing an evolved form of a Pokémon will promise at least one XL Candy. In this case, trainers capturing a Grotle, the evolved form of Turtwig, will receive a single XL candy. While capturing is one of the many methods, it's far from the only one.
