A new datamine reveals the cooldown time for transferring Pokémon from Pokémon GO to Pokémon HOME could last hours or days, but the cooldown can be skipped for those who don't mind spending a little cash. Soon, players will be able to transfer their beloved Pokémon from GO to HOME, but it may take longer than expected.

Pokémon GO support for Pokémon HOME is something players had been asking for since HOME was released earlier this year. When Pokémon GO support was announced in September, the community rejoiced knowing they would soon be able to transfer their Pokémon from their mobile devices to Pokémon: Sword & Shield. However, it was quickly revealed that players would have to pay Pokécoins in order to transfer their Pokémon. Now, the reason why players will need to spend Pokécoins has been revealed.

A Reddit post from Pokéminers, a team of dedicated Pokémon GO dataminers, outlined the details of an upcoming Pokémon GO update which gives insight on the specifics for transferring Pokémon from GO to HOME. According to the datamine, the cooldown timer appears in increments of hours and days, but the number of either remains unknown. Players can choose to wait for the cooldown timer to expire, or they can spend Pokécoins in the shop to purchase energy to charge the Pokémon HOME Transporter. Pokécoins are the premium currency of Pokémon GO which players can purchase using real money, or they can be earned in small amounts by defending gyms.

The datamine also revealed that players will be able to send multiple Pokémon from GO to HOME at one time, but the number allotted has yet to be revealed. Players will need to link their Pokémon GO account to their Nintendo account, and then start the transfer from Pokémon GO. The player will then finish the transfer in Pokémon HOME. It is worth noting that Shadow Pokémon, Mega Evolutions, and Pokémon defending gyms cannot be transferred.

It's safe to assume that the more Pokémon a player transfers in one setting, the longer the cooldown timer will last. While it's not all that shocking, it is disappointing that The Pokémon Company would choose the greediest route of transferring Pokémon from GO. Players already have to pay a Pokémon HOME subscription fee if they want to store more than a box of Pokémon, and now they are being forced to pay more money if they don't want to wait a day to transfer their Pokémon GO pals. Hopefully, the number of Pokémon that can be transferred at one time is a good amount, or else Pokémon GO to Pokémon HOME transfers are going to take a long time.
