The Holiday Part 2 Timed Research Tasks are finally available in Pokemon Go. Completing these will reward players with items, encounters, and the chance to find a Galarian Mr. Mime. It's common for Niantic to celebrate holiday events in both Pokemon Go and Pikmin Bloom. For this event, trainers can find holiday-themed versions of classic Pokemon while exploring. This includes a Pikachu wearing a Santa Hat, a Spheal with a scarf, and an increased spawn rate of Ice-type Pokemon. The event has been broken up into two halves, the second one has just begun and features Timed Research Tasks that will need to be completed before the deadline.
The Pokemon Go Holidays Event Part 2 takes place from Thursday, December 23rd to Friday, December 31st. Once the event ends, the Timed Research Tasks and rewards will go along with it. That's why it's important to clear out these challenges as quickly as possible. The rewards for doing so are typically rare to find through other means, and this is the final event in the game before the new year begins. Since the holiday event is heavily focused on Ice-type Pokemon, all the tasks are centered around various Ice-types in the game. This event is also handling its Timed Research a bit differently when compared to other events.
The Pokemon Go Holidays Event Part 2 Timed Research Tasks are broken up into two different categories. The thing that makes this so different is that they are happening at the same time. Normally, completing one will instantly unlock the other, but this time around, all are available at the same time. The two categories are the Catch Challenge and Friendship Challenge. These are the rewards trainers will earn for completing each of them.

- Catch 10 Pokemon: 10 Poke Balls.
- Catch 25 Pokemon: 25 Poke Balls
- Catch 10 Ice-type Pokemon: 10 Great Balls.
- Catch 40 Ice-type Pokemon: 25 Great Balls.
- Catch 9 different species of Ice-type Pokemon: 25 Ultra Balls.
- Reward: Galarian Mr. Mime encounter.
Pokemon Go Holidays: Friendship Challenge
- Send 5 Gifts to friends: Holiday Pikachu encounter.
- Trade 3 Pokemon with a friend: Vanillite encounter.
- Send 25 Gifts to friends: Holiday Delibird encounter.
- Send Gifts 3 Days in a row: Unknown encounter.
- Make a new friend: 3 Silver Pinap Berries.
- Reward: Galarian Mr. Mime encounter.
It's important to mention that Galarian Mr.Mime does not have its Shiny form in the game just yet. This Timed Research is giving trainers the chance to capture two Galarian Mr. Mime's. It might be valuable to keep them around for future trades. Galarian forms can be incredibly difficult to come by in Pokemon Go. Complete these Timed Research tasks before the event is over.
