One of the many upcoming events Pokémon GO Trainers can look forward to during November 2022 is Greedy Gluttons, featuring UB-05 Glutton, a.k.a. Guzzlord. For those unfamiliar with this pocket monster, it is a Dark- and Dragon-type Ultra Beast whose appetite knows no bounds. According to Pokémon lore, this monstrous Ultra Beast in Pokémon GO has been known to devour whole buildings and mountains to satiate its eternal hunger. Therefore, it should be no surprise that this monstrosity will be a formidable foe featured during the Greedy Gluttons event.
While exact details regarding tasks or quests in Greedy Gluttons in Pokémon GO have yet to be officially announced, Guzzlord's debut is the central point of this event, which will occur from November 9 until November 17, 2022. Accordingly, the primary way Trainers can prepare for this upcoming event would be to have a good understanding of the UB-05 Glutton Ultra Beast's weaknesses and best counters. As a Dark- and Dragon-type Raid Boss, Guzzlord is highly vulnerable to Fairy-type Movesets, meaning that the list of optimal combatants will primarily consist of Fairy Pokémon.
Preparing for the Greedy Gluttons Guzzlord Raid in Pokémon GO
More specifically, Granbull, Togekiss, Gardevoir, and Zacian in its Hero form would be some of the best counters to use against Guzzlord during the Greedy Gluttons event in Pokémon GO. Pokebattler suggests that rare Pokémon with Fairy-type Moves, such as Mega Alakazam, are also viable combatants, thanks to the amount of damage they can generate. Additional optimal counters would include Primarina, Sylveon, Galarian Rapidash, Florges, Beartic, and Clefable. Suppose Trainers do not own any of these pocket monsters or do not possess ones fit for an Ultra Beast Raid. In that case, it should be mentioned that Guzzlord is also weak to Fighting-, Bug-, Ice-, and Dragon-type Moves. Of course, Fairy-type Movesets still are the most effective. However, these four elemental types are also practical against the gluttonous Ultra Beast should players not have any viable Fairy Pokémon in Pokémon GO.
As noted above, the missions for Greedy Gluttons in Pokémon GO have not been mentioned by developer Niantic as of November 2, 2022. Thus, Trainers will need to be patient until news regarding event activities is released. Nevertheless, Dot Esports claims that Greedy Gluttons will be followed by a Team GO Rocket Takeover Event, during which players will encounter many more Team Rocket members on their travels. The best way to prepare for this event would be to have as many Potions available for the many battles to come. This step will ensure Pokémon GO fans can sustain their top fighters against the waves of Team Rocket opponents without constantly swapping between healthy combatants.
