A campaign running on social media is offering Pokémon GO players free tickets to Pokémon GO Fest 2022 if they can find the elusive Golden Razz Berry. The popular special event will include events for players to enjoy on a global scale; this year's Pokémon GO Fest features online and in-person events, which will hopefully cater to all fans, no matter their current living situation.

Pokémon GO Fest is a huge event for players, offering everything from limited-time challenges and bonuses to new Legendaries. The 2022 Fest looks set to continue this trend, with a variety of events due to take place from June 4th to June 5th. With nations cutting back on COVID-19 restrictions, many players will be keen to enjoy in-person events, even if the lessening restrictions have also led to unpopular changes to the game. These rolled-back alterations to the game were originally meant to ensure Pokémon GO remained playable throughout the pandemic, but greatly increased the game's accessibility in general. One such change concerning Pokémon GO Fest itself is the event's ticket price. Pokémon GO developer Niantic has now decided to undo the price drop of the 2021 Fest's tickets. This raises the cost of Go Fest participation from $5 to $14.99, a notably sharp increase.

For some lucky players, however, ticket price will not be an issue. The official Pokémon GO Twitter account has recently announced a sweepstakes competition, which challenges fans to find and retweet posts that contain a Golden Razz Berry. The competition will run until May 31, 2022, at 6:00 a.m. PDT, with the competition posts presumably being spread out over the timeframe. After the competition closes, 50 winners will then be selected at random to receive a free ticket for Pokémon GO Fest 2022. This ticket will be needed to access many of the events taking place during Go Fest, including the upcoming release of the Mythical Pokémon Shaymin.

Land Forme Shaymin's debut marks the latest in a long line of new Legendaries being added to Pokémon GO; the run-up to Go Fest has notably included the release of the Alolan Tapus, as part of the 'Season of Alola.' Other new additions soon to be introduced by Pokémon Go Fest 2022 include a number of Shiny Pokémon, as well as a special event Pikachu sporting a Gracidea flower in honor of Shaymin. There will also be a special 'Finale' event due to take place on August 27, which will be another ticket holder-only event. Although Go Fest ticket holders will be automatically allowed entry, other players will be able to purchase tickets at a cost of $10.99. An incredible amount of content has been announced for this year's Pokémon Go Fest, and this new competition will allow some players to experience it all for free.

It is good to see that the entirety of Pokémon GO Fest will be accessible for a few more people in spite of the ticket cost. The details of the competition are also sure to increase interest in Pokémon GO's social media over the next few days, which is a smart marketing move on Niantic's part. However, it must be said that this competition comes remarkably close to Go Fest's start date; many players will have already purchased their tickets, and could very well now be feeling disappointed by the missed opportunity. With Niantic already facing heavy criticism for recent decisions, this may prove to be something of a misstep. For those players who have not purchased a ticket, however, the search for a Golden Razz Berry will certainly make for an exciting extra research task to complete.
